I think SE is trying to get the majority of people to quit so they get more excited about FFXIV, but I wasn't looking forward to FFXIV in the first place, and after this I care less, knowing that a company like Square-Enix has stooped this low.
I seriously believe SE will increase the level of NMs, mainly endgame ones. I really doubt everything will be soloable.

Quite frankly I just *** want Tuesday to land already.
In order for the level cap update to ever sit right with me, they would have to totally rewrite everything in this game, i.e. making Convert LV50 instead of LV40, making Greater Colibri LV105 instead of 81, and having Homam and relics be LV99 instead of 75. And make stats and HP/MP gains per level smaller so you still end up with the same at LV99 that you would have at LV75.
And at that point, why bother with updating it at all? When you're just doing 24 levels more work for the same returns?
SE's not trying to keep the game balanced. They're selling out to keep more people playing. There have been about 3 bonanzas in a row right now to give everyone a chance to make gil, not just good FFXI players that know what they're doing. They don't care about game balance, when they're giving LV40 players Hauteclaires and Ridills and Relic weapons. They'll use whatever gimmick attracts the most attention, to keep people devoted to their half-*** Final Fantasy delusions.
And at that point, why bother with updating it at all? When you're just doing 24 levels more work for the same returns?
