The free login campaign has been especially great for this sort of rubbernecking. "Yeah, see, FFXI's long established power curve got completely rewrriten, oh, about ten minutes after you quit."

Morning all, I hope it finds you well.

It finds me tired and annoyed. I should have called in sick.

Mornin'

Thanksgiving is rapidly approaching and I've not been pressed into attending any shotgun weddings and there's no one in my family if imminent danger of dying.

I'm hesitantly hopeful that I can have a peaceful, quiet Thanksgiving one-on-one with my wife for the first time in several years without sweating a major event.

Morning remo.

How's pennsylvania?

Pretty dull out here to the west. there's a lull in my normally heavy workload, so it may be a nice day of goofing around. thanksgiving with just the wife sounds nice, but I wouldn't know, nor probably ever will. we run to at least two different places throughout the course of the day, either that or they make a two day affair of it. I fall asleep at someone's place, without fail.

Football & booze & food are lovely, it's all the racing around town that breaks my balls.

sup with the rest of ni? anything?

thanksgiving with just the wife sounds nice,

Back when I worked retail there was no chance in hell of me getting out of working both on Thanksgiving and Black Friday, so a long time ago we told family, "we won't be around for Thanksgiving, sorry."

And we've kept that tradition because it makes for a very nice little semi-formal at-home date night for us. It's just kind of become our thing, but the past few years have been tough because it's required -- as mentioned -- either driving three states away for a giddyup shotgun wedding (of people that have now separated) or grandparents' funerals, etc.

I've got my fingers crossed it goes off cleanly and simply this year.

well you where asking for a game to play with chimi. lol
almost bought it myself for ps4 but waited it out a couple days due to a buy 2 get 1 free promo (for paycheck)
but while waiting, I noticed my regular version in Steam got upgraded to the extended edition (same as ps4)
then something came up and missed the sale.

honestly wait for online holiday sales, there is a decent chance to actually see the game cheap

"hmm I have the day off work, I should get caugh up on stuff I norally dont, like games and stuff..."

-2hrs later of random youtube videos I would normally see at work....

"dammit"

so with the sneezing and coughing and other sick stuff, needed something more calmer to laze away, easy to pick up and drop, etc.
so I noticed I had purchased Life is Strange a long time ago, all 5 chapters and booted it up.
really good story, like an interactive movie with many choices and outcomes(?)
like one of those old books "if you decide to punch him in the face, go to page 12.
If you decided to run away screaming like a little ***, go to page 22."
and some minor puzzles here and there.
story gets dark real fast, and has replayability by taking other paths.

also still not a 100%
no idea why i decided to show up at work.

I'm saving what little PTO I've got left in the workyear for moving when I inevitably get a house because I'm sure I'll need to take at least a day or two to see to that.

Otherwise I'd probably be taking off all of Thanksgiving week.

forgot my metal mug at home, so sneaked into the lunchroom to take a foam cup and hot water. up was small so using one of my stocked black tea-earl grey is a waste since it is a larger teabag...
looked around and there was a decent supply of teas.
took a chamomile one...
...smells damn good, strong too.
chamomile triggered a memory, a story I read a long time ago, about 8 or so years ago.
so I googled it up.

edit update:
tea tastes like ***.

Month or two ago, my grandpa gave my mom his car and a couple weeks later my dad pulled out in front of someone and had a wreck. Last night my niece backed into it. I'm thinking I should hit it just for shits & giggles.

Ugh. Cars.

Don't get me started.

Truck gets inspected, needs a bunch of stuff, takes a fat wad of cash away from me.

Then the car with under 35k miles on it starts having problems.

Three garage visits later -- luckily everything still covered by the powertrain warrantee -- it runs almost right again, despite not as smoothly as it did before things started acting up, though I'm hoping that's just the new parts getting settled.

...and all that just in time for the rear tire to pickup an irreparable giant gash in it from road debris and two new tires needing put on because they won't do them individually and of course they only make low-profile sports tires for this car.

What parts did they replace? There's like 2 situations where parts need to "settle" and neither of them should apply to a car with 35K.

I forget specifically. The turbocharger itself needed replaced back in June because it was faulty and I'm pretty sure all the parts this time around were related directly or indirectly. I know one was the intake manifold.

I dunno. I love my car but I'm not really happy right now with the failure rate, warrantee-covered or not.
