No swimming lessons yet. We let her play in the waves last weekend and she loved it! Running towards them when they retreated and then backing up as they came towards her, giggling the whole time :)
She is not amused with water on her face. For awhile making funny sounds with our mouths -which she started mimicking- while rinsing her hair and face would work at distracting her. Lately this has not worked. =/
Playing in water is fun :) Have you used a slip-n-slide or garden sprinkler yet?
Yeah...that sounds a little too warm. My sister was born in November and during that summer my mother was always warm. We ended up at Rock Springs or Wekiva springs for most of it. Hopefully, you don't get major heat waves this year or you can cool off easily.
It's hilarious seeing their reactions at the beach! The sand seems to be hypnotic to them. The texture, I guess?
Understandable with the salt water even more so. You can plant them with their back turned away from the waves, but there's always that stray one that takes them by surprise.
We've used a sprinkler and an inflatable kiddie pool. Seeing a grown man and a toddler lounging in a kiddie pool with a beer and sippy cup, respectively, is chuckle-worthy.
I hope it will be decent. There's always Barton Springs, if not, plenty of buds live in neighborhoods with community pools. (The subdivisions built after 2005 or so all seem to have pools.) That's usually what we do on weekends during the summer anyway.
EDIT: Barton Springs usually gets overrun with young, whipper-snappers, though.

My aunt and uncle had a new construction house in 1995/6 in which they added "American" ceiling fans and bought/special ordered a fridge with an icemaker, which was uncommon in the 1990's still.
It's apparently a wee bit hard to rewire and retrofit for ceiling fans for homes built in Europe, depending on the age of the home.
