And as for FF6, if you want the real deal experience I recommend using the Japanese version. 100% of the original version is translated into English for use with an emulator on the PC. All you have to do is not use the save state function, lol. Just save your game as you normally would.

However, if you don't want to swing that way then SNES cartridge style. I tried the PS1 version and although it's the same deal, the cut scenes kinda take away from the SNES feel. SNES cut scenes were just you not controlling where the characters moved and if it was really intense you couldn't even control the speed of the text, lol.

GBA, ugh, that's reminds me of the version of Crystalis they released. They totally changed the very first quest in that game, so I doubt GBA will give you the original experience, lol.
Back to being unsure. D: I emulate lots of games, so really, depending on how the GBA emulator looks fullscreen at 1920x1200, I may go for SNES just for the pretteh value. Or play GBA after finishing the SNES ..lol.

Night, Zeek.

Good Night Zek, and hello peoples!

Gearing up THF and gonna try skilling up Parry that way.

Goodluck. I had problems doing it on thf. Lower lvl mobs I'd evade 95% of the time. Higher lvl ones I'd never parry lol

SAM can't do it solo, so my only alternative is trying THF. I've mathed it out as 119 hours @ 1skill/hour. Spending 4 hours a day I could be capped within 4 weeks and 2-3 days. This is currently what I'm aiming for, but realistically I'll give up or get pissed long before I hit 200.

Dual Parry Knives + Bonnet + Earring = +33 Skill. It probably isn't enough, but I'm running out of ideas.

On a brighter note, I enjoyed dinner tonight:

Might be faster to finish lvling sam. Or do lvl capped areas. Or idk whats your parrying at right now?

Currently sitting at Nat 150.

The only problem I'd have with finishing SAM is gearing it up. I've been pushing it through with crap this entire time. I'll likely get to the point of no invites if I keep it up much longer :x (I did get Haubergeon, though, so I'm not -completely- useless)

I've given up on help.

The excuses Mai gave me were: Waste of time, not getting anything out of it, boring, just don't want to, want to play Aion.

Mai's a close friend, and through my logic, if she won't do it, I doubt I can find someone else. Too stressed trying to make it easier, so I might as well bite the bullet for a while.

Not sure about healing, but I know she capped her Enhancing :p

I went so far as to offer to help her skill club/finish dagger/etc, but still no.

Parrying is a funny skill to try to level. The problem is jobs that are good at it evade too much for it to activate. I always hear from NINs, SAMs and especially DNCs how hard it is to cap, however their skill is way below 200, almost like yours in 100-150 range. Personally, mines almost capped on PLD 215/225 atm, and thats mostly just happened from leveling the job to 75. I know I was just over 200 when I hit 75, the rest mainly came from Sky and Dynamis (main assist). The higher the skill level the slower it's been going up, I'm guessing because PLD only has a C in parrying though.

So basically my guess is since it only procs if evasions fails, the way to cap it on a job that's good at it, is to first get it to above 200 using a job that's a C in parrying and a C in evasion (PLD, DRG, BST, WAR). Once it's above 200, then switch to a job that's an A at it (THF, NIN, SAM), but stack on a bunch of -eva gear, or cap it with COR (A- parrying D evasion).

Rdm is probably the best getting it to 210. Low evasion. The ability to solo insane number of mobs at once. It's yummy

All of which begs the question... How desperate am I to continue skilling?

You're doing parrying, right, Tou? All I'll say is naturally tanking in situations helped mine tons. Between exp parties (tanked often as SAM/RNG leveling), merits and tanking in Salvage mine got to 210 without ever going into a place specifically planning to skill it. Now I'm to the point of needing a partner and hitting a place like Boyahda being why I've stopped. I'd definitely say get to 75 before focusing on parrying, though, as you'll waste an obscene amount of time trying to catch up to cap each time you level. :c

Yeah I'd suggest do some solo lvling while waiting for pts or something you'll get skill ups. Or wait for martial master and do lots of FOV or something lol

Yeah... This is a waste. Just gonna revamp THF's macro set a little bit. I really should buy a main-hand dagger, too. Kard is cool, but such low damage...

This was like ..I wanna say over a year ago when SAM/RNG was still considered rare, before the 2H patch. Then everyone said it was teh ghey and Polearm onry, but I can't imagine any other way to have more fun on SAM leveling. lol Pretty much all of AU has a exp route for pure piercing and even on normal mobs like Erucas in Mount Z it was effective. Super easy to gear for as well since so much Racc gear is cheap and available, as opposed to Polearm where you need straight Melee acc up dabutt. :<

Hey Cai, is Soboro required for the SAM/RNG combo, or just preferred? I can only remember seeing the combo once, and it was in my very first linkshell back when I had first started.

Interested in trying it, but too lazy to go get Archery caught up
