I was thinking about it the other day. Out of all the main FF protagonists, WoL is the only one whose goal from the start is to save the world (as far as I know, haven't played them all but I have the general idea of the overall story).

I'm not really trying to do all the extra stuff. I just want to play through them so I fully know stories and can say "yeah I played all FF...except XIV, but not like that matters LOL"
I'll have to tell my friend that. He has an obsession with stealing items. Right now in IX he'll keep using steal with Zidane, even on simple monsters (can't even remember if there's a Steal command that early in FF). I'm like "dude all they have is a *** soft, please attack with him," nearly causing him to wipe many times. It pains me to watch sometimes, lol.

There is no steal in FF. Thief is a fighter that has lower attack, can only equip medium armor, and only use some swords and loldaggers. When it becomes a ninja, it can equip more armor and weapons and cast black magic up to level 4 spells I believe (which includes haste!). However, it's still *** useless. To put it in perspective, when I fought Chaos my Knight would attack and do ~1500 damage. My ninja would attack (with the Masamune equipped mind you) and do 10-100 damage...
One thing the PSP version has over the PS1 version (and original) is that they did away with the spells per day (D&D style) and gave the mages MP instead. Made mages more useful IMO.

Yeah I do remember that much when I got Ninja. At first I was like "AWW YEAHH" then it didn't take long to realize I wasted my time.
Sadly I'll be using a guide, at least if I get stuck since we don't have time to run around aimlessly since we'd like to get as much done before the summer ends as possible. I still have to blaze through FFX for him since he claims he's really bad at it but still wants to see it through. Not sure how you can be bad at X when you can have a Perma-Scan on at all times, lol. And he missed Valefor's second move that rapes at the very beginning. He's lucky I love X.
I had to play VII for him and that was painful since I've beaten it so many times, lol. I even skipped out on getting Omnislash because I just wanted to *** end it. I'm tired of playing VII >_>

I'll keep that in mind, but we play over his house since his room isn't a damn sauna like mine, and my eBuddy rapes my phone battery so I only use it to talk to the gf.
I also have to play XII for him, as he'll play X-2 and he played VIII for the most part when that came around. I really like XII, just will take some time to get all the marks and stuff. Now that I have to do since that's just fun.

FF5 & FF2 are top on my list of games to finish first. I'm in the Rift in 5, so I'm near the end. 2 I think I just destroyed the Dreadnaught, so I have a ways to go still.

In all the time spent playing FF7 i never got omnislash >.> I got the item for it but never really grinded my characters so cloud never got his second level 3 LB XD just chocobos and battle arena.
10 is kinda a tactical game compaired to other FFs, I was bad at it untill i accpeted and embrased that. Just gotta watch the turn order and switch characters in to pick off the mobs before they act and for bosses swap out to less squishy characters before big attacks (most have some kind of warning if they are that bad).
12 I really liked but had a few flaws... the differences between characters seemed extreamly minimal since everybody can learn/wear everything. Also any spell or ability with a long animation kinda sucked since the character might be just standing there for 2-4 attack rounds XD
