On my way to my friends house to load up the car and hit the road 3 and a half hours away to Kansas City. I stopped at the grocery store to pick up some gum for the trip. On my way out, I thought to myself "what the hell, I'll get another bottle of vodka for everyone". This was around 12:30pm in the afternoon and I had already spray painted my hair orange and in a fauxhawk to look like wakka when I got dressed up. I get random glances, I hear old people behind me saying things like "I didn't realize it was Halloween already" and just other douchebaggy remarks if said by anyone other than really old people. So I have my gum and my vodka at the register. I'm waiting in line for the person in front of me, they're almost done. The cashier (short woman grey/white hair maybe in her upper 50s, smoker) turns to me and says in a scratchy voice "You better have your ID on you". I just politely smile with my ID in my hand already.
When she finally gets to ringing me up, she scans the alcohol, takes my ID, punches it in, asks me random *** questions about what's on my ID like height, hair color, eye color, DoB, etc. She finally accepts the fact that I'm old enough to purchase it. I'm about ready to grab my things and leave, but as she hands me the vodka, she grabs my wrist and says "Maybe next time you should dress like an adult and not look like you're 10 years old."
I was wearing a super mario tshirt and camo shorts with sandals.
