but i have been trying to figure out how to take a SS of my desktop and i cant get it. nor do i know where they are saving if i am hitting the right key.

lol hold the shift key, hit PRINT SCREEN. Open Paint. Hit PASTE(ctrl+v)
On your keyboard, usually on the upper right three buttons, you should see "Print Screen" or "PRT SCN" or something. Press that once and it copies whatever is currently open on your PC screen. then go into something like Paint, and press CTRL+V to paste whatever is on your clipboard. Then save it, upload it to a site and ya can post it anywhere.

not until after u hit SAVE in paint lol
you would think there would be a folder somewhere already on the computer to where the SS of the screen are saved. but ty very much. i have been wrapping golf clubs around fence poles trying to get this to work.
lol so.... would now be a bad time to bring up the 'My Pictures' folder?

In Ubuntu Linux (probably all GNOME distros, not sure about KDE), hitting PrntScrn takes a screenshot and prompts you for save location right after :B

this is mine. i don't have a lot of customization stuff like some of y'all. ***prolly would make vista more unreliable than it already is.
i just use most of the crap that came with my cpu.
i hate and love computers. a worm wrecked my system a few years ago and i lost like 12gb of files. so i don't bother keeping a lot of stuff anymore.

I can't stand clutter so my desktop is pretty boring. My PC is currently in "you don't need to be tempted to play videogames" mode so it isn't turned on to take a screen grab of, but it's blood-soaked Depp as Sweeney Todd. :V

@Hal: I like it, doesn't seem boring at all; wallpaper's awesome. lol I know what you mean about no-gamez mode, had to remove all the shortcuts from my desktop to make it as annoying as possible if I wanted to play. lol

Anyway, this is my laptop. My Mac G5 is wayy too messy to be even considered putting up here.
The other desktops before are interesting/weird/awkward/etc. Need more Mac's :)
