Top Half Of Cutscenes Not Displaying

so after staying up and playing the beta during its final hours i decided to watch the opening cutscene one last time before the beta closed down. however for some reason only the bottom half of the cutscene rendered, the top half just being blackness. the other cutscenes in the beta played properly, everything from acquiring the first crystal to all the dungeon scenes.

but now i decided to play some of my other games in my steam archive and now most of them are having the same problem too, but its only the opening cutscene, not any of the other scenes in the games.

if it helps my graphics card is a radeon hd 7450 with 1gb DDR3.

This same exact thing happened to me. I have a rather crappy laptop I'm trying to play on, so I assumed that was the problem.

It's a recent windows patch that is causing the problem. I had installed Darksiders recently when steam had it on sale and its cutscenes had the top half completely black.

This link will give you some information. I've personally deleted the specific patch and it had fixed the problems I was having, but, as always, do so at your own risk, it's there for a reason etc.

I've also yet to restart my computer, so I don't even know if windows will reapply the update since I have it set to automatic.

Edit: Yeah, I just looked under Control Panel - Windows Update, and the KB2803821 has been reselected for install. :\

phew that's probably what it is, I remember having to restart my comp on the 13th for an update. still bummer that m$ be screwing up =/ wonder how long til they fix it
