I want to start doing Delve as a DRK but I don't have a delve weapon and no one wants to take my DRK. And I don't think I'll have enough time to start a new job that people want/need (such as WHM) because I think by then when I have it geared and ready, the next tiers of Delve will be out and I'll be SOL.

So my question is: What can I do to get in?

What do you have for a weapon? One option may be that you'll need to form your own delve parties. Also, have you tried to answer any of the shouts? You never know, someone might take you on a farming run. What else do you have for jobs?

I have a 85 Caladbolg as my great sword. And I can't form my own parties, I don't have any of the Wildkeeper's Reives KIs. And most shouts I've seen only ask for delve weapon DDs. I also have THF, BST, and NIN at 99 but they're not as good geared as my DRK.

Do I just have to be patient and wait for a shout that will also accept empyrean weapon DDs too?

Depending, some people shout for thf or nin as pullers. You can also try forming your own then shouting for someone to enter you(have seen people do that too) and just throw them some airlixirs to cover the rock cost.

Well... the gear for my THF and NIN consists of almost full Aurore set, the head which is the AF3+1

Doesn't take anything special to pull. You can also just get a Wildkeeper KI, all you have to do is pay the bayld and show up for one.

If you don't have movement speed gear on THF you might want to pull on another job. I've never tried it or seen it done but I bet BST could make an awesome delve puller. As far as key items go, someone who joins your ally is likely to have it... just buy them a rock.

You would probably be better off working on THF to a point its got Max Treasure Hunter. Then you can make your own groups, just make sure to get someone who has the KI who can enter you. Ceizak is a nice one to practice on as its like.. 3k a pop.

When I started doing delve, nobody had the new weapons yet so there was no choice but to use R/M/E, but as someone who has a Delve weapon now, I will rarely invite any dd with an R/M/E unless they are a good friend or is a SAM.

This is my usual party setup.

PLD WHM (Work together to hold NM) SCH or WHM, 3 DD (2 DD can be replaced with THF for Treasure Hunter)
MNK MNK SAM COR BRD SCH (Use the 2 MNKs for Matamata in Morimar)
DRK (me) SAM WAR COR BRD SCH

My parties usually get 6-8k in Morimar depending on how good the people are and whether we can hold all 4 NM.

I have the same problem of not being able to get into Delve shouts for plasma/Ki's. I left the game for about 40days to go on a music fest tour, then came back and every run wants Delve DD or 99 R|E|M. I have 6 Emp weapons with multiple gear sets for those jobs and get turned down from PUGs. I've seen a War with some Perle/af3 +1 gear get into a shout because they had a Delve Weapon and I was told 90Uko No Thanks..

Make your own parties. All people want to do is maximize their plasm payout per run. Either that or find a friend who won't mind bringing you along.

Before yesterdays update, I was sick and tired of having to set up parties and spent all my gil on it. Not enough people making parties, too many people standing around waiting for people to make parties, so go make parties!

I most likely will, but I would like to be involved in a couple runs to see what they consist of first hand before starting my own.

I had the same problem as i started delve late so i leveled corsair which didn't take long at all. There are a few bits of gear you need too maximize rolls but they are easy too obtain. And i think as someone posted you can always just ask if someone does a shout if they will take you without a delve weapons, there are some nice people out there.

Yes, yes. Best way is to take advantage of nice people and bring down their runs with your worthlessness.

The game isn't hard. If you want to be useful for an event, then make yourself useful. You already know how to make yourself useful, you just won't do it.

Or maybe you really do think the next tier of delve won't need WHMs?

People generally know what they doing, but I see your point. Find a friend who is at that level to make a party and see how they do it.

I took some time off to make gil and bought a Senbaak Nagan for my mule DRK. Expensive but it was worth it for me.
Good Luck.

Bit harsh. At least the guy is trying to find out information, unlike some complete idiots who I see joining/making delve runs.

There are most likely dozens of people in the same situation as you, try making a group that has low standards but similar jobs. You can probably churn out around 4k plasm a run at ceizack. It'll take a little longer but you'll get your weapon, and once you have that you can join better runs.

If you have problem getting into groups, I -strongly- suggest leveling either: WHM, COR, SCH, or BRD. BRD and COR could probably get away with minimal gear effort. WHM or SCH will need good cure sets, and idle sets (or you run out of MP)... I function just fine in delve with my galka mule that only has +5mp/tic refresh, and like 33% cure potency. His gear is severely lacking, but I never run out of mp and rarely have problems.... (Until I run into a MNK who insists on using Counterstance.. Nothing sucks more than seeing a MNK get hit for 600dmg per hit with counterstance up)

@Lisamarie How "minimal" are we talking here? What are the roles of BRD and COR in a Delve farm party?

By rocks I assume you mean those shards that are sold on the AH? And how much gil does it usually cost to run a Delve farm party?

Yeah, except no. He's trying to find out ways to get his gimp jobs into delve runs. He's not trying to find out ways to make his job and overall desirability better.

If your DD is next to worthless, it's best to level a support job to help you bring your DD job up to par. Many, many people do this. TC just won't because either he's lazy or he really thinks people won't be using WHM in the next tier of delve.

You buy a rock, not a shard. Ceizak is about 3k per run, so anybody can get one of those. Morimar are a bit more expensive, between 200-300k per run on my server.

But yea, the most important message here is to make absolutely sure your job is good enough to do delve. If you enter delve with a super gimp job and cost other people plasm just because you didn't put the effort in to reach their level, then don't be surprised when you get a bad reputation and people stop inviting you altogether.

I never said that. I said that by the time my WHM will be ready for Delve, the next tier will be out and I won't be able to join the next tier. Assuming that SE will require people to have the win from the boss(es) from the current Delve.

I've been told that a WHM has to be really good geared to join. But now I hear that it doesn't. So excuse me if I'm getting different information from different sources

So guess they are not just lazy as you are saying Ihina(nice guy you are) stop being an asshat.

For cor i suggest checking wiki and working on the gear for rolls. Some +1/+2 empy gear, af2, get your merits. Its pretty easy to obtain what you need. Thats what i did and was able to get in delve groups/KI partys and get the delve weapons/gears.

In delve on cor do your rolls, help with sleeps(light shot), possible pull but usually there is a brd doing that.

WHM is the job where you can get away with being least geared...other than COR, and a strictly TH THF.

Don't be too put off by being behind at this point. Only the most dedicated players are ready for the next stage at this point.

There are definitely a lot of players who are behind at this point, pull together and beat up the content. Things will go wrong, people will die, but at least you guys tried.

Those who have reached the next level have the right to be picky, they just want to be elite, they don't want people who will waste their time. That's nothing personal against anybody, it's not always somebodies fault that they are behind, RL gets in the way of stuff all the time.

Lolwut?

You're saying he's not lazy, then your advice to him is to read the wiki, get basic AF gear, merit it and do rolls in pt. Seems you think he's lazy and incompetent enough to not be able to do that on his own. Seems like you have a worst opinion of him than I do.
