Gaming Mouse

Sorry if this is the wrong area new to the forums.

Anyway i normally play FFXI using a xbox 360 controller, started playing way back on a PS2 then moved to xbox, and never really learned how to play on a computer. Well after my dog ate my wireless connector i decided to using a logitech gaming mouse I got for rift awhile ago.

However I can not figure out how to get it to work with FFXI. Does it support gaming mouses?

I think most who play on PC without a controller use the keyboard almost exclusively (I know I do).

I don't think XI itself has any real support for gaming mice, but you should be able to set up a profile in the Logitech software if you're intent on using it.

I am slow, but yes, the Logitech "Profiler" type bundled software should be able to create a schema for various button references for FFXI. Technically you would be able to download profiles for games using the latest versions of the software, I remember, but FFXI is such an old game that I think you'd have to custom-create one yourself for it.

That being said, as Isiolia mentions, it is better to just learn to use the keyboard, as using mouse navigation for one's character on-screen in FFXI is extremely clunky (I cannot stand it, personally.)

MOUSE4LIFE! (nothing helpful to add. I use a plain old mouse, and don't even know what the difference between that and a gaming mouse is.)

Just play ffxi with a keyboard honestly. All the bindings are fine for that.
