Volatile Matamata Leech Etiquette?

So I did some mata farms today, which is my favorite way to make money and some plasm . Spent the first couple hours with my killing party in one party and a vet monk in other party leeching and being semi AFK.

Another group showed up, I was sure if they wanted to kill it, but I was told to invite. They weren't equipped in any manner to mata, even with their 2 MNK.

Things were fine for several pops, nearing the end of my killing party's pop a shard dropped and I lotted QMd it and popped FL for whole alliance.

Killing party went and we got shards to spawn some more. We added the white mage from the leech party because ours left and we were good to go. The vet MNK who was killing with his mule was also farming his own shards.

That's where the problem started, leeches were looting shards. So I said something. O said that while 1 shard will give 50 plasm each kill is 500. Basically "I'll kill but I'm not doing this charity". My group wasn't going to pop for other people when we don't benefit.

So we pop a mata and our healer and 6 other people drop party causing a whip. They apparently did like me lotting shards to keep the fight going.

Am I out of line telling people who cannot kill not to lot pops? I mean they are there to leech not get 60 plasm from a shard.

TL:DR killing mata, noob LS shows up to leech, they get mad when I tell them not to lot shards, disbands during NM and we die.

P.S. they came back and tried to kill and they managed to get down to 80%. We went and killed 7 more before I had to log.

I love farming this NM. Our social spams Mata once a week for plasm/airlixer/gear drops. It's something we can do in a small group until the weekend when we have enough people on for full Delve spams.

While we do allow people to join us for KI's the biggest problem we run into are low-man parties attempting to kill NM. While fun to watch it gets annoying when they don't want to take turns popping. This is bad etiquette. Those parties that do take turns with popping get outside healing and a perimeter around them taking umbril aggro off them. Occasionally we get trio-boxers that bite off more than they can chew and we take mob when they death warp out.

Let me ask, to kill matamata you need that invitation for dinner KI?

Invitation? No
Minimum? MNK(with 2hr, augmented AF2 legs help) and Healer. Throw in a BRD and probably COR if you don't have 2hr up.

To pop any NMs outside of fracture you just need a shard for that NM.

Bare minimum to kill Mata is a Monk with Formless strikes and rigors and a healer. The single MNK would just need hundred fist. The required strength to farm is MNKx2 BRD and Healer. Though you can farm in all kinds of ways depending on what jobs you have. Could probably kill with 8-12 with just AH DDs if you proc magic with a paladin tanking but not attacking.
