Currently the Bazaar function here does not specify whether someone is selling stacks or single items, would be nice if it did. <.<

It's the same as in game: they are singles. However, you still see people try and bazaar their earth crystals for 500ea. You'll have to use your own judgment as to whether or not the person bazaaring on the site is too dumb to realize the difference.

Maybe, but when you post something in your bazaar here on the site it shows on both the stacked and unstacked pages for the same price, and I can't find anywhere that the quantity we enter is actually shown. The site doesn't have to reflect the game perfectly, but it should do better to reflect our intentions.

As an upgrade to my idea, why not allow us to specify the number of items, the price we would offer singly, and the price for everything.

I'm going to have to agree with Cymmina here. The reason why it shows up as the same price for both is because when bazaaring items, you price them individually, and you can't really have different prices for if the person buys a few or a whole stack. I do think the bazaar system here could do with some more work, namely making it easier to find people who are bazaaring so the system is more useful than just for non-auctionable items... but I think I'll make a separate thread for that.

Well it depends on whether or not the devs would prefer to emulate FFXI's system, which I challenge anyone to define as user-friendly, or if they would like to go the extra mile for usability. If the site were reading your data files and simply replicating your bazaar-ed items I would agree that it should match FFXI, but it does not and there is an opportunity to improve upon the system they've built.

I do like the ideas you've put into your thread though, actually I just had one in the same vein I'm going to attach to it. :3

O.oa It's just like Bazaars in-game though... You don't Bazaar a stack in-game. You Bazaar everything individually.

As simply as I can put it: We are not in-game.

Why can't my FFXIAH bazaar say "I have 4 stacks of Cermet Chunks that I would like to get rid of at 40k per stack because they are not selling on the AH."? You want me to put in my bazaar [as it stands now] "I have an unspecified number of Cermet Chunks for 3333.3 gil each." and there is still no place where YOU can see how many are for sale. One? Twelve? Seven hundred and forty three? We can enter quantities when we add bazaar items, but from there it just disappears into the ether.

Why does everyone seem so hellbent on emulating FFXI's pain-in-the-*** bazaar system exactly on a website that already has so many other tools that compensate for weaknesses in the game's design?

What's wrong with you putting 3333g each? If I want to buy some from you, I'm going to ask you how many you have for sale anyway.

Imagine each syllable of the following being punctuated by the sound of my beating my head against the my desk:

And what is wrong with FFXIAH being more user friendly and offering both single and stack prices?

Offering both on the site makes it more useful. Offering non-full stacks makes it even more useful still. Even MORE useful if the stack price isn't just a math multiplication of the single price. "I'm willing to sell these for 1000 each or all 12 for 10000" (which is more realistically what happens anyway). And guess what, if you don't care/don't like it, just list the single price like all the game offers and you have your preferred method. Just because the feature is there for people who want to use it doesn't mean you have to.
