Yep downloaded it, 23 files left to update...but of course it takes 16 minutes to do the filecheck, and the update download then times out, after which it does the filecheck all over again...for 16 minutes, after which the update download times out, after which it does the filecheck all over again....never heard of a resume function SE? Or is this just me?

Or is this just me? Don't do a file check. Just log in and click play. It'll download 10 files and thats it. Just you i guess. Mine took about 15 mins AFTER i downloaded the offline .rar
File Check took about a minute. 5 minutes left on my 20 minute file check, then hopefully 10-20 files to download and I can get on game. Why did I take off work for 3 days for this? Oh yes, so I can clean the house while updating before my wife gets home and punches me in the face.

 Note: While it is in the item list of usable things when you open that list up, it is always greyed out and not able to be used. This is one of the reasons why when you have a test server, it's good to test things. However... OH NOES! Can't have people knowing what the expansion may hold in store before the content goes live on the servers. Believe me it is not my choice...I click Play like I usually would, then it checks FFXI version, tells me there is an update...and goes to check all files... Ok. So can that download from MEGA work if you downloaded the rest of FFXI from Steam? I copied those ROM folders but after my file check, it still said I had 3500+ files to download, couldn't download the first one, and retry-ga as before. Seems like those files didn't work for me?

Thanks. I wouldn't have found that otherwise. I guess I havn't seen a version update notes page yet. Is that out somewhere? Link plz. Seems update is faster than what it was. I had to restart it now, I'm up to 7% in less than 5 minutes.

Windower macros are broken :/
I am having patch.txt issues where the download will not progress thru.

Ok so I got the update off of mega, hit play, it did the check file thing and then timed out again -.-
Files like patch.txt are kind of region specific (because they contain data about the configurator utility for the game (Tools/ToolsUS/ToolsEU)and including that on the update archive would cause trouble for some people.
It's already a huge help not needing to download 3k+ files ... 23 files are a lot better than 3000+ ! m(_ _)m You'd think after 11 years this wouldn't happen every big update xD Guess FFXI is still more popular than we thought.
