TH4 just refers to a THF with both TH+1 items
IMO TH+1 is not technically a total of 4 however as TH an TH2 are sepparate job traits
TH+1 adds to TH not TH2
So a TH4 THF is actually a TH+2 & TH2 THF

so but what bout the so called "Hidden effect" items?
Yunalie said: Ludoggy said: I thought TH was just an extra roll to get the item. Thats exactly what I thought. With TH4 I thought you got 4 rolls for the item. Doesn't up the drop percent just gives you more chances to obtain said items. It is an extra roll. Though technically if you have TH4 you get 5 rolls ( 1 for each TH and 1 for the normal roll). Oshit, I forgot about Koki! /facepalm

Yeah tachi koki and th is a roll why there is no ***about thf hit it. Thf does not have to only needs to be on mobs hate list anything he does will put him on it.
so if he is in an alliance it probably random rolls through alliance/party members. of which each has a shot at having an item drop. So if I'm a thf /whm...I could cure someone wacking a mob and that would put my th on the mob? =o

More people = drop %. there is a rumor about tachi koki = th+4. because in some cases sams who have used it got full drops to drop. playing around joke sam as mijin gaukure. But if a thf who is a he or she is in party and do something to get on hate list such as steal/ranged attack/mug. th4 will be active and run through all the alliance and party members. since th is a random roll it means each person in party has a chance at having the item drop in case it's true. SE has stated it a such. Who ever though thf hit it back in the day were retards I never did. So..... do not tell me you did Ludoggy said: So if I'm a thf /whm...I could cure someone wacking a mob and that would put my th on the mob? =o it probably would or even dia. as long as you are on the mobs hate list. Imagine th1-4 as a debuff reason why most dynamis people back in the day had thfs go /blm to gaa or sleepga with blms to tag stuff with th+4 :). But simply getting more thfs to hi stats while one pull and also have some to fight mobs is just as effective. Bahamut.Incredible

Ludoggy said: So if I'm a thf /whm...I could cure someone wacking a mob and that would put my th on the mob? =o that right there hurted my head. Ive been on the wiki quite alot recently while leveling THF, direct copy/paste:
If more than one player has the effect in a party or alliance, the strongest version will trump all others. This effect will remain active as long as the person with this trait is in the party/alliance, on the hate list of the mob (performed some action on the mob to generate hate), and within experience points range. Some amount of enmity is retained after a player is KO'ed, and also per SE commentary, the treasure hunter effect will remain even after the player has been KO'ed. Treasure Hunter is not affected by amount of damage, "luck" items, or who makes the "killshot", nor does it have any effect on chests, coffers, or caskets (including those in battlefields). The exact formula for calculating the effects of this trait are still unknown. I don't even know if Tresure Hunter 4 is "BETTER" than TH3.
By admission, I've gotten more to drop for myself, my friends, and my various LSes with my TH3, than those I've dealt with who have TH4. SE never truly explained how Treasure Hunter works, but I'm sure there's more to it than "TH4 is better because it's the higher number". The inherent problem with trying to judge Treasure Hunter, is it's random. And even if THIV > THIII it all comes down to random chance. The only way to know for sure would literally be a case study with millions upon millions of entries with an item who's drop value is verifiable.
That said, I doubt Treasure Hunter IV is less effective than Treasure Hunter III, so even if it is all placebo, it doesn't hurt. Same thing with Crafting direction, day and moonphase, if it doesn't hurt, why not do it anyway. Gilgamesh.Surazal
As a long time THF I always worked under the assumption that TH and TH2 were two different traits (thus why they are the only tiered trait to get listed more than once). Along that path of though I figured an TH+ gear was just that, a plus to the base tier one treasure hunter.
But that's just my assumption. http://khoisan.livejournal.com/15302.html
This was extensive TH research done by Shulula of Asura. It's got GRAPHS AND PIE CHARTS OSHIT! :V The way I see it is: "More can't hurt."
real talk:
in salvage ive seen a sam's koki drop more ***then a TH thf... idk y but its something about koki thats just magic. no ***. I see this post has been necro bumped and i wish i would have seen it when it was brand new.

It's got GRAPHS AND PIE CHARTS OSHIT! :V ^^^^^^^^^this Tachi koki does not increase your drop rate it only increases your chances of people in the know grumbling under their breath. People who get drops when using this would have gotten it if they were on dnc rdm war pup or bst. Alliances that are doing end game events typically have a thief on the roster at all times and any drops gotten after doing tachi koki is purely incidental. I have not seen any tests that show tachi koki giving th percentage increase. Feel free to google it. Leviathan.Celestinia

Probably why no-one does it anymore. I know Shulula in-game on my server and he was influential in my own TH testing. His stuff is good, but it is only one of several tests for the potency of TH, and his samples are actually rather small. For the best samples, I would simply check the TH article on wiki. There should be more testing there.
