Final Fantasy XI Seekers Of Adoulin Windows XP

Ok I am sure its been stated some place but will Final Fantasy XI Seekers of Adoulin.... work with a windows XP system I , called SE they told me no it will only work on vista 7 and 8 -- i think its just BS to get me into buying win7...

no, SE will no longer formally supports windows XP, I'm sure it WILL work, but it's a 'use it at your own risk' type thing.

but seriously, upgrade already, WindowsXP is 12 freaking years old.

its more than likely BS to get you to transfer to the operating systems they will have "tech support" for next year. I cant see why it wouldnt work.

yea but my computers i play 11 on are OLD and xp works great for what i need it too i just hope it will download and install if not they lose 3 accts...

SP3 is actually only about 5 years old.

and yeah, pretty much unless they force some sort of arbitrary limitation on the installer (doubtful) it should work.

Also: other people have claimed to have called and claimed SE said it will "work" but there will be no support.

I wouldn't bother "upgrading" OS's unless you have more than 4gb of ram in the system.

i do have 4gb but it's just old .... i dont know how much poor old PC's would like 7 I am sure it would run just be very very slow

to me there's no point in changing to a 64bit system if you don't have more than 4gb of ram, and there's no point in the 32bit version of anything past XP (to me).

but my main concerns are compatibility, so take that for what you will.

Just to let you all know I have just downloaded but it wont even install on windows XP so if you have XP don't waste your money getting seekers!

Wait wut? I'll try it now on my 6 year old XP laptop to confirm if needed... God, I'll have to copy over the files from my Win7 machine if so ><

EDIT: Setup installed all the SoA files on Windows XP SP2 with no problems.

Are you talking about the Client that you download PRIOR to the actual update from PlayOnline? If so, that's incorrect. I have it installed on this machine which still has Windows XP.

I'm on XP and mine downloaded and installed on fine, only thing I get is a screen when logging on saying it hasn't been installed yet so I cant access the areas, but from what I can tell that's because it is not actually live yet lol.

Yeah, they could've just said that Adoulin content would be available after the actual update happens.

oh OK maybe my download was corrupt, guess ill delete and try downloading again. Sorry for bad info.
