Why FF9 Is The Best Final Fantasy

The video game demographic was teen males. Of course teen males are going to be the protagonists. If you've noticed, as the range of gamers has increased, and gamers themselves have gotten older, so have the protagonists.

Mario's gonna start standing on his walker to reach bricks soon instead of jumping into them. =(

Well Cloud from FF7 is 21, and Lightning from FF13 is also 21, so they're not really getting order ;)

(But FF8 hero is younger)

I'd really like to play an FF where the protagonist is like 25+, they could do a much darker and more mature story that way. Kinda like Versus XIII I guess.

I heard FF12's protagonist was supposed to be Basch but they changed it to Vaan because they felt like people wouldn't like or relate to Basch. (Still happened, no one likes pretty boy Vaan)

Rather its true or not though.. not sure. But I wouldn't be surprised.

It's true. I believe they wanted the player to play a character that isn't the main character. This way they could see the story from an outside perspective (Ashe being the main, Vaan being the eyes we see the story through). Interesting concept but kind of fail overall.

White Knight Chronicles did it better.

Neither of whom, including Squall, act their age though. Cloud is introduced as kind of a grizzled mercenary, who'd left SOLDIER a success. Lightning is introduced as a hardened military veteran... at 21.

6 was by far the best. It's the only FF game I have on my Ipad now!

Has to 7 or 10 as the best. Like them all, but love those 2!!! Still play them from time to time.

Not sure where you got that "last dragoon" bit from, but it states in the game that Kain is the commander of Baron's dragoons.
