Why FF9 is the best Final Fantasy
Cerberus.Mander said: » Sure it was complex. Having to figure out which spells junctioned with what best along with which GFs with who depending on compatibility and what the character needed to be able to junction etc. Not to mention having to flip flops things here and there depending on what you're fighting. It's plenty complex(at least compared to IX's bland system). I didn't say it was hard. I love the junction system, personally. Guys, stop going off topic. This is not a thread about what Final Fantasy is best because I already stated in my OP that FF9 is.
Damn off topic cretins mucking up my thread... Aeyela said: » Guys, stop going off topic. This is not a thread about what Final Fanta.. Aeyela said: » Guys, stop going off topic. I really should see about making a hack for the game, hmm. Yep, I agree. That one OST track from ff9 makes it the best final fantasy in series.

I found dodging 200 lightning bolts easier than skipping 100 times... we all have our own opinion on the best, personally 7 & 10 (9 and in fact any 1-6 were also great imo) were my faves and again imo 10 international/pal was the last good single player ff that still appealed to the jrpg fans and not just button mashers, gameplay in particular was the best, simple turn based menu system, abilty to switch chars in battle, turns displayed on screen so you could predict & prepare, sphere grid could easily be maxxed out and even customised to make some real uber stats hp/mp, addition of dark aeons in int & pal versions gave some real challenge, pity about tidus but there you go hehe.

I found dodging 200 lightning bolts easier than skipping 100 times... Surprised no one brought this song up yet. Its been a while since I have played it, but from what I can remember FFIX did a nice job of developing the characters and giving all the back stories. I'm about to bust out my psp. I enjoyed FFIX quite a bit, and it's easily in my top 3 when it comes to FFs. Course my favorite is still FFVI, loved Terra.
That being said though, only 2 villains successfully destroyed a world: Kefka and (Trance) Kuja. No one else can really say that now FF9 obviously had the best characters out of all the final fantasy games. The story was a little abstract as the game went on, which I actually enjoyed, but from a fiction perspective, it wasn't as well constructed as some of the other games. It's still my favorite final fantasy however, as none of the other games develop the characters nearly as well.
In terms of story, FFX has the best story, hands down. Reading the thread title ignited a giant flame inside my belly..
9 for me had no soul, felt empty playing it 'personally'... mini game sucked b8lls too and I'll stop there. 8 was the best for me, best mini game in all FF series hands down. Characters were excellently formed and the storyline had epic suspense and drama. All round classic =) 6 is my second favourite game, for a SNES game it is literally mind blowing, visually outdated.. needless to say but compelling storyline.. timeless, fantastic.. 7 is my 3rd, my first ever FF game and it is legendary.. but if I based it on emotional attachment then this order is correct for me. And please don't take offence but anyone that hasn't played 6,7,8 or 9 should not be offering any comment up on the FF series, it died on the PS2 although I did enjoy 10 somewhat, it felt like it was in decline. Ok, finished bleating. Bismarck.Dracondria said: » Kuja destroyed a planet, Sephiroth whined about his mommy. Sorry to burst your bubble but.... id like to see kuja to that That's just an attack animation, Kuja destroyed Terra in a cinematic.
