Just picked up a PS2 slim from goodwill for 20 bucks and wanted some advice on some games to look for.
We have a bunch, but seeing what to look for. Have stuff like FFX, FFXII Kingdom hearts, Persona 3 etc. Just wanted an idea of really good and rare games to look for.

Street Fighter III: 3rd Strike should be at the top of your list if you enjoy fighting games in any capacity.
Silent Hill 2 is a game everyone should play simply to understand what good atmosphere in a game feels like.
Katamari Damacy is a silly game but tons of fun. Nothing satisfies quite like the screams of small children as you roll them up into a ball along with the rest of the world.

I've heard that Shadow of the Colossus was an amazing game for the PS2, I didn't get to play it back then though. I still have my PS2 and have been thinking about picking a copy up.

Not rare but under rated Legend of Dragoon is a fine game.

For a quick thrill, if you can find it cheap, easy to throw many hours into Dynasty Warriors (3 and 5 are my favs)

Oh I guess I should add that if its an HD remake, I likely have it for PS3 (God of War, Jak and Daxter, Ratchet and Clank, Sly Cooper, Ico collection)

You may be right Flavin Im old and forgetful , but i think iirc PS2 is backwards compatable

Playstation, Playstation 2 and Playstation 3, can all play regular Playstation games, all models. US at least.
I'm sure some that require accessories probably don't work though.
