Can't zone into certain areas!!! Help!
Just wondering if anyone else is having issues logging in or zoning into the WotG areas? my mule is fine in port jeuno but my main is stuck in limbo in bastok markets S ><
gonna go out on a limb and say it's not a server issue? You should verify your file integrity by hitting Check Files in the POL login screen. Would need more information such as what platform you're playing on, and what exactly you mean by "is stuck in limbo" (error message?)
getting error 3001, time out error. was in the area earlier on and fine, came back to a server time out error, unable to log in now. goes black downloading data then server time out.
This happened to me once kind of, was helping a friend do some battlefield, and I DC'd or something, wasn't able to log back in.
I just logged in on another platform, and warped out, went back to my main laptop and was able to play normally. Not sure if you have another option to log in with though. just logged my brothers account in same area and it worked fine. GDI this sucks ><
First question: is your ISP comcast?
Second(And quoting this for SE's 'fix' after googling): Quote: We can offer a few suggestions if you are experiencing any of the following: • Have difficulty connecting to or staying connected to the PlayOnline Viewer or FINAL FANTASY XI • Crash, receive a black screen error, or get stuck at the downloading data screen upon clicking your character handle or character select button • See your the lag meter turn red • Encounter increased lag or connection problems near crowed areas • Have trouble accessing specific zone(s) • Have trouble logging in with specific character(s) • Receive any of these errors: 3113, 3100, 4001, 1160 Suggestions: 1. Check to make sure you have properly configured or turned off any of the following: Routers, Proxy Servers, NAT Servers, Internet Connection Sharing services. 2. If you are using any kind of software/hardware Internet Sharing service/device the following ports need INCOMING access to your PC: TCP 1024 - 65535, UDP 53, and 50000 - 65535. Also, check to make sure that the ports mentioned are not blocked by your ISP for INCOMING access. Proper configuration of any of the above items mentioned should be done by following the instructions in the software/hardware manual or calling the manufacturer's technical support. 3. If you are using a router, and have configured that router for port forwarding, temporarily bypass that router and connect directly to the modem. Please take note of the following: • Proxy servers, and satellite connections are not supported and do not work correctly with FINAL FANTASY XI. • Your router may require that you use a PC to configure your network settings. For more information about how to configure your network settings, please refer to the instruction manual that came with your router or contact the manufacturer directly. • If your Internet Service Provider (ISP) specifies a DNS server, you need to make sure to configure your settings to allow packets to pass through UDP Port 53 as well. For more information, please refer to the instruction manual for your router or the information provided by your ISP. Zam.WonderGem said: This is one possibility. Another would be a file check if you experience it between two specific zones. If your computer jams up processing information for the files on your computer, it might not be responding in time to the server's request, ergo your error. Google helps. and side note... Playonline Website I kept freezing in Batallia(S). Kalilla had to log in for me and get me out. Mules worked fine but not my main. This was almost a year ago and I've never tried to go back.
After that I was in regular Batallia and I couldn't even use the sparkly mandy warp up the cliff since I guess it links to Batallia (S) during the cutscene. It disconnected me but I was able to log in. SE did zero and told me to look on fanbased boards for help. The hell. Never ask SE anything.
They spill the crap that i quoted up there every time. If you want answers, it's best to google/bing the problem yourself and IF you can't find the answer by google/bing, then post on BG(in random question/tech forum) or Here. Chances are, you'll find your answer on google/bing as this game is 10 years old... No, ISP is not comcast, and i just logged into the same zone on the same pc with a different character so I'm not sure it could be a file error. Also i set up routers quite often so all the ports are forwarded correctly. Guess I'll double check and try logging into the xbox and see if i can move. Just remembered my character was standing on top of the crystal too when i left. Hope it's not for that reason ><. Just wanted to make sure I wasn't driving myself nuts if there was a problem out of my control lol.
In the ffxi folder there is a USERS folder.
Rename it adding a _ or something and create a new empty one called USERS. Try logging in. If doesnt work delete this new folder and rename the old one as it was originally. If works your user files are damaged and just need to delete from the old folder the folder with the same name as the one that was created in the new folder. The only plausible answer is your camping a NM a JP is after.. He JP Buttoned you till he is finished.

Tried this and no such luck, can't get on, server time out. Logs in on xbox just fine, other accounts are fine, just my main for some reason. guess it's back to reinstall update crap >< So anyways, did a full file check and played around a bit, don't know what's happened but it seems i can no longer play in the WotG areas on my main anymore. Mules and other accounts play just fine. Clearing user data did not work. Anyone else have any other suggestions before i do the painstaking option of dealing with SE and their uselessness? It's going to suck if i can't do campaign battles while waiting for buddies to pop on anymore ><
Check to see if your expansions are active.
If so, I would attempt to completely reinstall the entire game. Yes, it's a hassle but it would eliminate any current software errors with a fresh install. So yea. Called my ISP and for some reason they had some of my incoming traffic blocked. Had them unblock them and it's working as normal. Just find it odd that it was working fine until saturday morning.Oh well, thread can be locked now.
