Where Can I Get Cheap EU FFXI Ultimate Collection?

A friend of mine is looking to start FFXI but he doesn't want to pay much more than the US version, which according to current pricing is $5:

That's the link I listed in the first post as well lol. Also it's american amazon, which doesn't allow non-americans to buy electronics. Also, US codes dont work with EU accounts.

I got mine for ~£9 in the summer, through steam sales like Kiritoke suggested~ that was the cheapest you can get back then, not sure now.

forgive me if I'm wrong: but can't you buy whatever and use it on your client?

Accounts are region locked. If you register an account with an american address and credit card, you are forced to buy american versions of the game. I learned this the hard way, since my account is with an EU address and I imported ToAU from the US because it wasn't sold in my country at the time. POL said the registration code is not valid in this region.

Sadly Steam isn't having a sale right now. But I do recall they had one on FFXI last year around xmas, here's to hoping...

I had a friend who lives about 30min away from me who used the NA POL and FFXI (all 4 expansions included) for years. You need to match POL version with XI version with Expansion versions (all need to be US, EU or JP).

my first version was eu
later on i had to buy an American disc version to reinstall cuase my original was gone... no problem.
Then i used the American code to make my mules account here in eu...no problems
They are both on the same square enix account now too.
