How does the DMG number on your weapon work?
I know this sounds like a stupid question but me and a friend have been wondering about how the DMG number on your weapon effects your att. We noticed that when we changed from a high lvl Great Katana to a Sorboro our att didnt change. Obviously we know that the more DMG on a weapon you have the more you do. Just wondering the details.

To make it simple, weapon damage does nothing to your attack. If you gear a level 1 weapon with 5 damage or a level 99 weapon with 120, it'll have the same attack. Attack is based mostly on your skill with the weapon but you also get some from str(amount depends on if it's a 1h or 2h weapon). The sources provided in the posts above will give you a lot more detail if you're willing to read through it and understand the math. thanks. it makes alot more sense now. ^^
