So, my account was suspended for the first time, no idea why. Anyone know how long the first suspension is? :(

I thought it was 24 hour then 72 hour then perma ban unless you did something very crazy in that case straight to perma ban

ask the SE help dek they'll tell you how long for.
Plus if its a ban you'll get an email advising you of the ban and what it is for.

No i will clear this up it is 72 hours. Then any thing after that is really case by case but yes the 2 week number is more of what happens on the next one after 72 hours.

Good luck it is really hard to get any thing out of se about bans or banned accounts.

That lag thing u had seen is a way to tell that your data is being pulled and your being force moved by a gm.Normal lag is not like that.

What? Just no. That is non-sense.

But anyways, if you were lagging heavily, you probably got hit by the automated bans which caught you "position hacking". It happens that a few innocent people get caught in this while lagging heavily, the only solution is to reach the customer support.

Yeah I had a friend who got banned for lagging.

There's no "pulling of data" involved it. Suspending someone is just giving a status that can expire after X amount of time.

Since he wasn't teleported to jail to speak with a GM it means he was caught in an automated ban.
Sorry then i worded it wrong.How is an automated ban different then a gm one so i know for later.

Lag most certainly can cause an automated ban, also if your PC clock is off timing with the ffxi servers it can cause lag which will cause you go jump around which looks like you are PoS hacking.

This happened to me like 2 months ago. I was constantly r0ing and my net was failing for like 2 weeks(ty time warner)then I tried to get back on and got randomly suspended. was 72 hrs and GMs told me contact SE and SE said contact GM's when i told them check my log in history since i had been dc'ing so much blah blah. Eventually i just stopped caring.

I didn't say they don't have the capability to do it, I'm just pretty sure they removed the auto-bans. You'd need to be under investigation first for some reason.

I've had many different accounts on multiple servers either banned permanently or temp banned. I will tell you straight up you're lying and you most likely know the reason as to why you were suspended. Now fess up 'cause we all wanna hear the juicy details.

Most of the time they won't ban you right away and it can even take a week after the fact for them to investigate and actually suspend your account.

Please clarify. Are you saying that you won't be autojailed for position hacking, or are you saying you won't be autodetected and flagged(without immediate consequence), and have your account banned a few days/weeks later when your flag is reviewed?

I can assure you that the former is accurate and the latter is not.
