Never did it...so idk much about them.
I just know you buy a security token for extra security.

Do you get the Mog Satchel instantly after purchase? Or do you have to wait for that lil token thing to come in the mail?

Can you even still do them?
Heard they don't do it anymore :o

Once the token is linked to the account it takes about 10 minutes to give u access to the satchel in game. The token must be in your possession to be linked to your Squenix account. A fimily member got hers in the mail a couple weeks back and I linked it for her last week, so yes, they still "do them".

Pretty much what Bizarro said. All characters linked to the Square Enix account will have the satchel.

They are a great thing to have, but you are still not 100% safe, I got hacked with mine :/ but lucky i had just ordered one for my mule when it happened and after rollback put the new on my main, but they deferentially discourage hacking, and hell 80 inventory per character is worth $9.99 in my book.

Semi-related question, I have a second security token that hasn't been activated, came with my FF14 collectors edition. If my original 11 token ever dies can I activate my second token on my SE account in its place with minimal hassle? I've been using the same token since they were first introduced on two 11 accounts and one 14 account and I'm kind of surprised it still works. Just debating on if it would be easier to have it removed entirely if it ever dies.

Edit: Realizing how silly it sounds to ask if ANYTHING would ever be minimal hassle when dealing with SE.

I remember reading that those things have a really long lifespan, years even, back when I ordered mine when they first came out. They're beneficial to have though in case of hacking; they don't prevent it completely but they do make it harder for the hacker to gain full control of your account.

I would think you could use the same one, I use XI for XIV so I would think it would work the other way but idk for sure. I'm not sure on the process to unlink a token seeing as the hacker unlinked mine for me >.> but it didn't give me any problems linking the second one, took all off two minutes. I'm a bit annoyed I would have to buy a third for my second account now if I want one for it because of this but don't wanna lose Foxxy

They're both the same thing. FFXI and FFXIV use directly the same SE account if done so. It will work as long you get the FFXIV one online with a SE account that's linked with FFXI.
