As battle frequency is becoming faster, we recognize that there is not enough time to take a knee and rest like before. With that said, we feel that it’s about time to make some adjustments to /heal. While this is somewhat low in priority, the Development Team will be looking into this when they have the opportunity. | |

Would be nice if they made the initial tick a static 10 seconds instead of 20 seconds. Hell, would be nice if they reduced it down to 5 seconds even and give hMP some relevance again. I remember being a bit bummed out when they changed Healer's Roll from hMP (though probably for the best based on current content mechanics) to Cure Potency received. But hMP was a godsend for back in the day; and I'm sure if we simply got over this temp item circle jerk and with /heal adjustments it would be well worth using again.

Actually this would be ideal. Auto-regen and Auto-refresh can just be an additional tick or greater potency than the norm.

Actually this would be ideal. Auto-regen and Auto-refresh can just be an additional tick or greater potency than the norm.
Thinking something much more potent than that. Slightly more powerful than the current /heal without such a large delay.

As obvious as this fix sounds, SE would never do that in lieu of making /heal "useless." They'll probably shorten the ticks inbetween while healing, if anything.

Too bad that in this game you are only in combat if you have your weapon out.
They could just have combat mode active while you have a monster claimed to you/your group within range, similar to how battle music functions.

But btw.. who use /heal these days?... Legion?

A nice idea i would agree with.
Although it would be cool to get rid of a command that takes minimal use; unfortunately, i dont see SE dismissing it all together being that they would have to change the VNM spawning system. And since they're busy w/ other sh*t, chances are if they did do away w/ it, probably wont happen til 2015~.

Some form of buff gained based off how long you spend resting could be interesting... as they said there isn't much chance to use it during combat so some way for it to give you a boost at the start makes the most sense to me, perhaps some additional regen/refresh/regain capping out at a set potency/duration.

Reduce weakness effect over time when /heal. That's the only thing I could come up with that would be actually useful for /heal in todays world. Wow, seriously. Never even considered that.. Nice thought.

Only flaw, though, is that it might take away the unique traits certain jobs get, namely whm, who can actually merit regen. This was true until they decided that only Scholar could have Regen V. I still don't really understand why they did that...
On a side note, I think the idea of meriting Auto-Regen and Auto-Refresh would be a really nice idea. They could lump it with "Others" or with "HP/MP".

Am I the only person who thinks we don't need auto regen/refresh while disengaged? We already have a wealth of regen items to idle in, and the state of the game atm means most players do have idle sets. Shortening weakness is an interesting idea, but it may be difficult to implement without stealing arise(which is still 20m+ in general)'s awesomeness or becoming unbalanced.

lol @ the three posts above Urteil. We have very limited inventory space and if that's not true for you then chances are you're probably not gearing for the important things like TP set, WS set, Casting set, Eva, PDT, MDT etc etc. I'd bring all of those before I consider making a regen set. It's not that gear regen is useless, it's just not the top priority.

If its anything thats short like fodder mobs, dyna, salvage or old limbus you dont need all your sets then you can make some room for idle gear. These days there are a pdt/mdt gear with regen/refresh on them. I normally sit at 73/80 then keep misc stuff in sack like food tools meds and w/e. It would be nice if they let us equip gear thats in our sacks but you know they would rather nerf or change useless stuff.

That makes way too much sense and is far too simple. SE can't work like that. They have to come up with something needlessly complex, convoluted, and kludgey. They'll probably make us face different directions for different resting bonuses. Face N to improve MP recovery at the expense of HP recovery. Face S for the opposite. Or maybe they'll make us carry around lounge chairs or sleeping bags for improved resting.

Just be prepared for whatever changes are made to eventually be nerfed, as SE doesn't likely think things through very well and ends up nerfing everything they do anyway. Human beings will always seek the laziest path and way to exploit all systems. It is hilarious to me that SE gets butthurt about this and schedules emergency maintenance. /heal? Why even f'ing bother, imo.
On a brighter note, Thursday is the new Friday for all those players out there that do things other than MMOs, /cheers!
