Help With Windower

I wanted to install Windower for FFXI just to get the updates and register empy's over 80 but when I installed it my screen in game became all sorts of screwy. The background in game looks normal but my chat log/menu was all screwy and I finally got the chat log normaly my menu still is way to small and I can't read my macro's. I tried googling but I can not find a way to remove this program and set everything normal again. Please help!

Sounds to me like it's something to do with the text/menu resolutions in the FFXI config tool. Have you looked at that?

yea I had a friend tell me to attempt to re size everything to the old resolutions and that for some reason windower will input random resolution settings when installed. I tried to change them and I managed to get the chat log to look normal by returning the overlay settings back to 1024x1024 but the menu is still super small and when I fiddled with menu resolution my screen go all super stretched out again

I really just want to remove the program and pretend I never touched it and figure out how to return everything to normal

I'm not sure what I can say, other than my menu resolution is set to just the very top setting, the one with dashes. Maybe try setting it to that? If not, I don't know. =/

changing the menu res is a feature of ffxi itself, not windower.

can uninstall windower or simply just not run it, run POl from the Pol directory itself.

if still having problems with resolution need to use ffxi config maybe

And as a matter of fact it does while trying to find out how to uninstall it I came across in the windower forums when u first install windower it pops up a little Notepad at the end with resolution numbers on it that you can change or if you were not aware just close it and then it changes the resolution to 800x600 for the overlay.

did you run the windower gui first?
That allows you to set your resolutions and settings.
don't forget to click save at the top when you're done.
also, i've found that sometimes where you install windower affects how the program runs.
Obviously you don't install windower in your ffxi folder.
i've had problems when i place it in my program files folder so i just keep it directly on the main hdd in its own folder.

Try setting the resolution w/ the "Windower" config launcher (not the exact name). It will be in the Windower folder. Set the resolution and double it for the back ground resolution. Save the settings and launch the game from that window. If you want to run w/o the Windower, just run the POL.exe in the POL>FFXI folder, as stated above. To delete Windower, just delete the folder. I'm referring to the Non-SE version.

That is the config file to control the resolution windower will launch in. It does not affect your game resolution if you launch via PlayOnline. It does not change any settings, especially not changing them randomly.

I wasn't sure if just deleting the file would cause the stuff to revert back to how it was before. I'll go look for it now and of course not in Playonline hopefully that will work
