Can Blinkering cause ban?
As title says...
Atmacites all ugraded (the ones needed), wanted to blinker some cruor, (8m :s) No , blinker =/= gil flow between accounts
you won't get banned for doing chocobo blinkers, a good chunk of people are doing it, so i don't see why you couldn't either.
Non e' illegale vendere roba agli npc Evi >_>
Pretty sure the only NPC sales precedent for banning is with regard to buying something from one NPC and selling it back(to the same or another) for a much higher relative price.
You're technically required to perform work to gain cruor, so the exchange should be perfectly legal. That doesn't mean they'll keep the practice around forever, mind you. Based on more recent adjustments and additions, they're well aware of the chaos they're throwing the economy into. I imagine if SE had a problem with it, they'd nerf it somehow. Reduce the value at the NPC or something.
BARANCE, etc. Fenrir.Minjo said: » Pretty sure the only NPC sales precedent for banning is with regard to buying something from one NPC and selling it back(to the same or another) for a much higher relative price. Really? Someone got banned for buying from an NPC and selling to another? That sounds like more their fault than the players.... I don't think they have a problem with the concept, but I know for certain they're aware that the game's economy will not stay afloat indefinitely as it stands.
Billions of gil per month rushing into exchange out of thin air is a very bad thing. Really? Someone got banned for buying from an NPC and selling to another? That sounds like more their fault than the players.... It dances down a delicate thin line of being cognizant and aware of an exploit of relatively high repercussion and consequence. After all, the Salvage dupe technique was in all technicality a fault on their side for poor coding, yet was clearly a unintended result given through an exploitable technique. But as far as contrasting chocobo blinkers and salvage gear drops... I wouldn't fret over this too much. If anything it'll eventually be patched up like the Demon weapons from Castle Zvhal Baileys. I remember hearing about this from several years ago, but I don't remember what it (or they?) was. I would say that it totally was their problem. But then again, if they said "we noticed we messed up the resale value for this item, we're going to change it, don't npc it" that would be their reasoning. I guess that since you don't get a judge and jury it wouldnt matter but I would assume you were getting paid to walk from 1 npc to another. Hell even shellbusters required some farming first....

Really? Someone got banned for buying from an NPC and selling to another? That sounds like more their fault than the players.... I only recall two instances of it happening, and one of them was preceded with a warning to stop that went unheeded. The other, IIRC, was a blatantly obvious mistake after an update that should have been obvious to stay away from. Regardless, SE's policy has always been to, when in doubt, avoid and report anything that seems too good to be true. Not heeding that is the player's fault, as far as I'm concerned. You can be banned for gil flow. That would be the only major risk.
The biggest way to avoid that is to actually spend the gil. If you hoard massive amounts of gil from NPCing items they will flag you as RMT and ban you. I used to buy the Ichi NIN scrolls at 3k each in the Tenshodo HQ and sold them on the AH for 10K profit each :O if they start banning for chocobo blinkers im going to regret hording cruor for Shinryu/Atmacites on my mule for so long :(
All I remember was an NPC in Tavnazia and I don't even know what item it was. Subligar maybe? Maybe something else. You could effectively cap your gil in well under an hour. Emergency maintenance, and bans were issued.
If something seems too good to be true, it is. Burning cruor to sell blinkers is not anyone's idea of what's too good to be true, so it would be very hard to call it an exploit. An exploit should be obvious, to anyone with common sense. A lot of the people that did that didn't get banned.

That there exist deliberately programmed ways to increase cruor yield to astronomical levels (cruor chains - which is definitely a deliberate implementation and not a draft onto some other system, silver/ebon lights, cruor yield abyssites etc.) and an extremely effective means of converting it to gil (Blinkers don't HAVE to be sellable, but they chose to make them), combined with the fact that the entire blinker buying/selling process is protracted, tedious, time consuming, and appears to be designed from the ground up to be a pain in the *** leads me to believe that the entire system is working as intended.
I can't explain why they would deliberately implement a system like cruor <-> blinkers, but it would be literally impossible for them to be unaware of the situation at this point. It's major enough that if it were not intentional, it would be absolutely ludicrous for them to not throw the switch on it immediately. That aside, FFXI's economy appears to be, despite the strange dynamics of mass currency creation it currently experiences, operating relatively stably on the forces of supply and demand alone. Of course, there's the monster that is alexandrite, but that's mostly related to high demand and vanishingly low supply. Valefor.Prothescar said: » None of the the JPs that did that got banned. My "gold standard" in FFXI is Kraken Club. It's maintained the same relative price in RMT circles, but the gil cost has only gone up since the last inflation, which leads me to believe we're seeing a second inflation, albeit not yet as devastating as the last one. Relatively sure that if they saw this as a major game and economy breaking situation, they'd have dealt with it by now. It's been known for at least a year now.

The supply of Kraken Club has also gone down. Yeah, we can trade KC and HKC for beastmen seals at a ratio of 3:1, but seals drop once per 5 minutes, and that translates to a 50% chance a Kclub per 1035 hours of a single person's game time (assuming their time was spent farming seals only). Even if they're farming Beastmen's Seals, that's still a 50% chance of a Kclub per 345 hours of seal farming. (Neither of these figures are including the 69 fights you'd need to do). Regardless, on average, it takes three times longer for a single Kraken Club to appear from the ground up these days, and demand has not gone down at all. The Kclub has always been for the lucky and/or the few, the proud, the elite - with unlimited resources. I don't see how the supply has gone down unless we're assuming huge amounts of people are quitting with clubs on them.
Having camped Lord of Onzozo for an entire summer, however small the rate of creation of new clubs may be, it is easily higher now than the original developer intention. I estimate the drop rate with or without TH to have been around 10%, which places the amount of club drops that should exist on all servers at around 2,500 over the past 6 years. The census shows over 3,700 clubs in possession, a large margin of which I attribute to the BC. I agree that the supply of BS, if we're talking globally, has diminished significantly with the introduction of KCs and HKCs, but this alone would not indicate the supply or lack there of of Clubs. More importantly, RMT prices for gil are approaching an all time low, which occurred during the last inflation.
All signs point to inflation. For me. I could be wrong. Quitting, getting banned, simply leaving it on their character in case they come back ...
For those in existence, those people aren't selling their Kclubs, then they're not available "supply" for people who want to buy Kclubs. (It's also not apparent whether the 3200 on the census are the number active or the total number that have existed, although I'm assuming that it means active) Ragnarok.Kongming said: » More importantly, RMT prices for gil are approaching an all time low, which occurred during the last inflation. Keep hearing that term.
