How Do You Search A Area Without Having The Area?

I know you can do this,

/sea area <La Theine Plateau>. And it works, any way for the abby areas?

Just type it like it is written on the list. For example "/sea area Abyssea - La Theine".

You have to use the truncated search name for the zone. /sea Latheine or /sea tahrongi, it's not the whole zone name. I don't know the specific truncation of those zones; I'd check if I was online. Another thing to note, you can't search an area you've never been to.

Also, you cannot search BCNM zones unless you're actually inside of it... I don't know why it works that way ...

Well you can use the whole zone name or the truncated one. I didn't know that you couldn't search a zone that you haven't been in though. "/sea area abyslatheine" would be the truncated version of that.

In my experience, it won't show anyone in the area if you haven't been there yourself. It's dumb. Though maybe I was just unlucky enough for there to never be people in the areas I randomly tried searching when I was on my mules?

u know something funny now that i look at computers and command prompt,then i look at the command system on ffxi and i just find it so much easier to use the command system i wish i understood all the command lines for computers i think a lot of things would get done faster my self.

what i am trying to say is i like to use the command line in game to find people like i just do /sea all insert letters of name then i find that person.
