why does it bother other people if I post to have my points re-cached?

If you can not assist in the issue then why even put your 2 cents in?

Everyone feels like they need to tell me not to worry about it, or get over it, or get a mod to fix em, is there is someone in charge of handling this problem when someone posts? I have PM these people and nothing is changed, its always other people not even involved with the website that waste time posting on this issue.

I click the update button on my character, the achievements update, rank points do not, it is some kind of bug with the points, 1 week it works fine, 3 weeks they do not update, only someone with access to this problem can fix it.

What you have to understand is that the admins and mods have lives of their own. Jaerik is on hiatus and Scragg is busy with a new born. The mods can't do much besides message the admins themselves.

Also, manners usually go a long way. I'd edit your post so it's not a demand.

see all the ads on the site? There are more here than any other ffxiv community web site.
But people still feel they need to state

This is making them money and there should be some form of upkeep on the features.

Yes, they're getting rich. I mean never mind just how much data and site traffic this site generates (well, I can only assume). That means more expensive site upkeep, so even if there were more ads here, I really, really doubt it has to do with making them profit.

If they got rid of the ads and charged membership to use the site, would you be happy then? You get this site for free, stop bitching about what you don't have and be thankful for what you do.

The point was they make money and should upkeep the site or get rid of the giltchy feature

And my point was they don't make money. They manage to pay for the site and they have said before that even with the ads they still don't always make enough, they still rely on donations from time to time.

I remember Jaerek saying at one point a ways back that the site was actually being maintained at a loss so I wouldn't be too sure on making money. When it comes down to it, this is a free service, if it's that big of a deal you don't have to use it.

I don't like other sites, I like this site, whole reason I joined this was because it had an excellent ranking system for players and LS's on servers.

When your ranked #1 on your server and people chasing you down to pass you and their points are moving up but your at a stand still when you get points, its kinda upsetting. Rank to me = status, people on your server can look you up and say wow this guys been around for a while playing the game, must of done a lot of stuff on here to be ranked there. Who cares what they say my point is I love this site, and if I wanted to use somewhere else, I would be there.

Also when I first joined ffxivpro everything worked great, only real issues have been since the worlds merged.

i can understand that but at the end more people using xivpads so that mean they look at the store you got there not on ffxivpro. Sadly this site is pretty much dead for them to get players to use this they have to do better then xivpads at this point.

I use this website in hope that in 2.0 they make the AH system they have over at FFXIAH

Bottom line is if you're gonna run a site then you have to keep it updated and maintained. If you get too busy in RL to deal with it then you need to get help otherwise shut it down.

There is so much stuff on here that hasn't been updated in a long time or other technical issues ..even little things such as guild items that probably dates back to January or earlier. Long before any mod decided to go on hiatus or anything else. Do it right, keep it updated and maintained or don't do it at all.

Why pay money to keep the site up if it's gonna be like this... and yeah I'd say the majority have migrated to xivpads. It's night and day how the two sites are taken care of and updated.

anyways, the money they make from the ads is to keep the site running..
follow what they say to do for your info. i know i cant do anything of it.

and they arent gonna close it down cause 1 person bitching they cant see their stuff. scragg is working on a huge list for the site and is on whhen he can. yes 1 admin and currently 1 mod atm. if posters are helping to troubleshoot, id try that first

well its been almost a month and no points update, achievements still work but the rank system is wasted fubar. Maybe someday this place will function correctly again. Key word "Someday"

Don't really care if the site makes money or not, just wish it worked like it did when I joined it.

What the user under your main post is trying to tell u is that forum mods may not have the right level of privileges to do any thing for u about this. In Short what is being said is u may want to contact one of the admins who have full privileges and ask them to take a look at it for u.
