craft limits
ok lets say on a mule i have cooking 100 but i have decided to take leather to 110 as i increase my leathercrafting would my cooking start being capped or if i did a level 75 synth on it would i skill up past 70 on cooking if that makes sense
same as it was before just plus 10 levels. Base cap for all is 70. And you get 40 levels after that to distribute as you please.
If you have cooking:100 you can take LC to 80. (30+10=40) Once you hit 81, your cooking will go down to 99. So on and so on. Unless your caped on a craft (ex: 70LC and you HAVNT turned in item) then you cant gain skill. If you did break cap however, and you try to synth something higher then cap (75), you run the risk of skilling. If you had 110LC and 70Cook, and you had traded in the item for cooking cap, and you do a cooking recipie at 71+, you could skillup which would delevel your LC. So basically... once you really cap crafts, you have to be careful when crafting with your sub crafts? That's pretty wild, and I never thought o that.

When you hit the end of that specific 10 level range your on you have to trade item to advance further. If you never trade that item in, you dont ever have to worry about it going up. So if all your sub crafts are lvl 70 and you never trade in a test item, theirs no risk (skilling) in trying a recipie that might be slightly higher FYI: If the craft in the crafting menu is BLUE then your capped for that level range and HAVNT turned in an item.

But for OP, since cooking WAS 100, he'd run the risk. I like it. for example; ok i have deleved cooking to 70 from 100 and now my leathercraft is at 110 so i have turned in my cooking items, if i decided to synth a cooking 75 synth is there a possibility my leathercraft could be decreased?
I have never run across that one Tph, but i would imagin that YES, that would be possible to skill up and you would need to be carefull.
The only thing i could say is, once develed, check the craft in your craft menu. If its white, then you can lvl it up. Which i imagin would be the case. If its blue, then your safe. i haven't deleveled it yet, am looking at the possibility of doing it but i do a few synths that are 70+ cooking so if that will happen id rather level craft on another character
It would be my guess that it could still lvl. Its an interesting idea tho'
very as i still have my GP items etc for cooking id be able to reliably make what i need to make, just trying to get an idea of my limitations
yea i can understand that. Still takes a lot of work and time to get them up from scratch including GP items.
Guess it would depend how much you craft. If its only one item here and their, then maybe worth the risk. If you make a lot of stuff, that could get to be annoying quick generally over 300 items a day :s
This might have been taken care of, but I don't know - need to talk to someone that's deleveled a craft. But maybe, when you delevel a rank, you have to re-submit the test item, which would cap you again at 70. But I really, really don't know - just a thought.
