Rag99 wil beat Ukon99 in these situations on War - \fodder mobs or high haste/attack situations where it'll beat Ukon even with AM3 up(Neo-Nyzul/Low Defense VW/Old content).

Even then i'd still make Ukon99 first if you love War. If you are to make one relic for drk even though rag is the best pure dd one i'd still go apoc first and try to make both.

Relics to 99 are easier to get than Empys to 95. So I believe the real comparison should be at that point.

That being said, you mentioned a few specific points: 1) one of the jobs you consider is BST, and you asked in particular about a Relic.

This probably means you farm Dynamis for relic currency solo?

So my guess is this. You ask about a relic because it's the easiest option for you to solo the financial burden of the weapon versus the plate route. Not to mention that on most servers (at least on Leviathan) the plates will cost you about 1 1/3 times what the currency would cost you, so selling currency to buy plates isn't as effective.

So assuming the opening statements, I would say avoid the bravura. 95 ukon still beats a 99 bravura. NIN, I would think kannagi gonna win out as well, but ask more NINs than just those who observe and look at parses. BST? Again, I'm guessing you use that a lot, and you know better than I. Ragnarok- yes. Strongest in terms of the ones you mention, but yes, level DRK. At least have the weapon available to both jobs. Everyone I know who gets Gungir is happy they have it, even if its not the best out there, they enjoy it. And Mandau- if you solo I would assume, but Rudra's storm is much better than Mercy Stroke by all accounts I hear- ask more THFs.

I'd go Rag for pure "effectiveness", Rag, Gungir, Mandau in terms of what I see/hear in terms of what people seem to get the most satisfaction out of when it comes to "job changing" for them.

Awesome. I appreciate the input guys. If nothing else I've narrowed it down to Rag, Mandau, and Gungnir. I guess Glavoid farming is next in line for WAR.

Rag hands down if you're DRK in even 51% of situations. It's crazy. To me best two are #1Aegis and #2Rag, yet I'm doing Mandau cause it's close 3rd :) and my love for THF trumps my love for DRK.

Typing on iPhone so can't give full response but I will tell you my personal experience.

90 ukon is very very close in DMg to bravura 99, generally speaking.

However in group events the bravura pulls way ahead.

For example in legion it is very hard to beat a bravura war, simply because the aftermath gives significant gear flexibility for that event in particular

And that is not even mentioning the benefit of MT's def down for the entire group

(actually the correct answer is to sell the currency to fund 85/90 empyreans for every single one of those jobs except DRG, and use the remaining money to get the DRG an OAT)

Honestly, if somebody wants an Empyrean weapon, that in no way conflicts with their ability to make a relic. Why would you pay someone else to do something so simple?

You say that as if that were the first or worst piece of terrible information in this thread. Apocalypse? Aegis? Mandau? Gugnir? Ragnarok99 over Ukon99 for WAR? This thread is a gigantic jumble of "..but this one time I outparsed this.. so you should make Guttler!"

The best advice I can give is to ignore the responses to this thread entirely, even if that means you skim over my legitimate suggestion. Sticking your head in an anthill will result in a more informed decision than reading the contents of this catastrophic collision of poor anecdotes and misinformation.

You can build and unlock all celestial weapons and enjoy the apeiron damage, or if you have max gunblade merits I think Lionheart is the best choice.

Yeah, it's one thing to say something like, "among the jobs you play, this relic is the most powerful available" and really another thing to say, "I love my Relic and you will, too!" (Without knowing that person, of course.)

But really, Lolakitty, I love my Bravura, and you will, too!

I suppose if hundreds of millions of gil for a weapon that's worse than something you can piece together yourself in less than a week is fun for you, more power to you.

They need to make blu's relic weapon a gunblade. Do want. Even if it sucked I'd still make it.

I was actually just joking around, because I don't think that my opinion about whether or not something is fun really means anything to some random person that I know nothing about. And yeah, when I started, I wanted to make one of each, and it was fun.

Haha. Well I still appreciate the input even is some or most is inaccurate. In the end Ill probably go with one that a)I can play the most with the associated job b)is the most useful and c)looks pretty (as lame as that sounds).

Ideally I wanted to hear from ppl who had one or more of the relics I mentioned with their thoughts about which one specifically they found useful or which one they wish they would have made. Basically, as a player who doesn't get on much vs. most I don't want to make something and then wish I had made option "b". For me, making this relic is a big deal and possibly a one time thing.

To be honest, I wish I didn't do Mandau. Great weapon for thf, but considering the kind of stuff you'd do on thief...could spend on something else.

My vote is to always make it for your favorite job. Option A might be more powerful for a dd, option B might have more utility for that job you use pretty often but I feel that most are happier having a awesome weapon on the job they love most.

So what is your favorite job and what job do you spend the most time on?
