Ok, so the title is self explanatory. I have just finished getting every single non Unbridaled Learning spell available (holy sh*t what a task). I need advice on what gear to use, what spells to set, for general solo, party setups (aside from VW). I really have no idea which spells are better suited for one particular task or another.

I have merited Requiscant and use Quad. Cont. to make darkness.

Been there, This is proscar's "Best phys casting set" I'm assuming by that he means in general.

However I'm still looking for the best spells to set for particular uses.

well for solo auto refresh, store tp, dw, triple att, are good traits to have as a base. in areas with no aspirable mobs i tend to stick with low mp efficent spells like delta and heavy strike

Blu is a job that adjusts to situations very well. As such, each solo encounter you'll set your subjob and spells slightly differently.

In general, if you're using /nin, you'll already have DW3 which saves a lot of spell set points, so you can set STP, fast cast, auto-refresh, DA or TA for traits.

Some utility spells you'll want are battery charge, animating wail, delta thrust (if NM can be plagued or for added damage), auroral drape, actinic burst, magic barrier, saline coat, magicfruit/plenilune, amorphic spikes/goblin rush for SCs. The list goes on. If you give exactly what "particular uses" you're referring too we can be more specific w/ spell sets.

I can toss you my general use spellsets once I get home. What I use varies greatly and I often tweak sets for particular uses. It can at least be a good starting point until you figure out your play style and what works best for you.

Though I do have a brd / whm alt so that does affect how I set spells.
