Also my friends and I had a thing where we said the items name and "can i have it" in auto translate, then another party member had to say "yes please" in auto translate just before the nm died. That usually worked for us.

(FWIW: I don't think facing directions for crafting was superstitious; we had enough data to suggest it did (hundreds of thousands of crafts across many different crafting types); personally I think that players in XI figured it out "too easily" for SE...which is why SE changed it; data pre-that-fateful-update and post-that-fateful-update made many crafters cry....)

Back in the day doing a dyna-xarc, we were on our way to kill the ranger NM, and I was the only person going for the rng body drop. A guy in my ls named Sassori told me 'good luck,' and the body dropped! So he was the good luck charm from then on and whenever we wanted something we'd tell Sass to wish us luck to get it to drop.
