Dude, PSO. It's convenient if you have people over frequently AND YOU WANT A BADASS CO-OP GAME TO PLAY FOR HUNDREDS OF HOURS. srs, I never get tired of trying to get people to make a character with me.

Sure, kids these days got their Schthack private servers and everything, but playing it on the GameCube--even offline--still feels so good!

That's when you tell them that they aren't actually a game store.

I know that already. Whats worse is the gamestop near me had some games I wanted in their system on the website, but they tell me they don't have any game cube games anymore. I find it hard to believe that like, 4-5 games I want are just shadows in their system.

someone of their workers maybe took it home?

I knew soemone who worked at lamestop, and they'd used to take home stuff to play/watch (not just this person, but others as well)

I think its more likely they were too lazy to just turn around and check their drawers for the games since they don't keep them on the floor (never have, its a really small gamestop)

Well, they haven't taken in Xbox games for a while now, and it could be a lie but one store told me that within the next 6 months they will be ending PS2 trade ins as well.

if they said they don't have any I trust them more than I do their website, as it's typically inaccurate.

Ugh, sounds like I might be too late. Haven't been able to check out Gamestop with my recent workweeks revolving around late nights.
Are they available online at all? Or will I have to dig through the dregs of backstocks and discount bins?

Luckily there's a local hobby and retro video game store nearby. Might have to go there :o

I find it hard to believe that one game stop wouldn't have ANY gamecube games at all while all others have like, at least 20+ of them.

She just wanted to be lazy and not look.

Some you can still get online through the website, just I don't like to do it because chances are you won't be getting an actual case with it.

if that really makes you feel better...

(20+ isn't many at all)

I find it sad as to what gs does to their warehouses of titles that they decide they don't want to carry anymore.

such a waste of games.

At this point I wouldn't care too much about a lack of a case or instruction manual; as much as the absence of such bother me. When things go out of print and are set adrift from the cycle of being used and resold, I simply want to get my hands on whatever is available as a means to have it before all is lost. Sadly PS2 and Gamecube are those systems somewhat stuck in limbo because you need physical copies to play then as backwards compatibility (ala PS3) and emulation (ala Wii virtual console) aren't available as of yet.

Unless there is decent third party software on PC that runs gamecube roms? Then again, last I recall the discs were rather proprietary, making disc images much harder to obtain I'd imagine.

I've done the retail gig, I know.

if others only have about 20-50 titles left they probably sold out or transferred the remaining stock to another store.

I find that far more likely than an employee just simply stating that they don't have time to look that you'd have to come in to look at the collection, quite frankly I detest people that call stores to ask them, should just go in.

not at all, dolphin

ps2 emulation is a little more rough, but easy enough to get a used ps2 and mod it to play burned games.

I just got a hold of .hock G.U. all 3 volumes yesterday, I have yet to see if I ripped them decently.

Ugh, even more of a reason to upgrade my PC.
That's very impressive. Does it emulate the Wii interface as a whole ala channels or does it simply work based on disc image files? I mean not like it's a big deal either way as most virtual console titles themselves are emulated from other software, but I may need my Wii still if I wanna transfer software and demos to my DS and other stuff.

Considering some stuff they don't keep on the shelves, I don't think its at all rude to call and ask them >_> I thought a few game stops didn't have a Zelda game for the gamecube but turns out they did, it just wasn't out on the shelf.

Also, if looking for a rare game, better to call ahead then make the drive out there (if its far) to "see for your self".

asking in the store works too, but still, from my retail experience it's obnoxious as hell for people to call constantly about mundane ***because they're too lazy to come in, especially when you're busy and understaffed they get annoyed because you can't get the calls right away.

long distance is the only exception...

only reason I keep that gamecube around. won't work on Wii and plus I sold my wii.

Did an online store pick up to see how it goes :P
