Does anyone know exactly how pulling in the solo dyna zones works?

I noticed when you pull the statue in front of palace for jeuno, the 3 statues along the wall you pass by will spawn/aggro. Went to pull downstairs in wave2 and the entire left side of the zone upstairs aggroed and ran at me.

Is it just buggy or did they actually add a mechanic to prevent you from skipping certain routes/statues?

Also kind of troll that the zone just insta spits you out when w2 boss dies so if quartermaster isn't on you dont get to keep boss drops.
