Random Question thread (FFXI related)
How does the new dyna d solo entry work? Someone told me you can enter as alliance every 60h and solo once per day?
You can go literally every day AND normal dyna yeah.
Colossal *** up, that's why they're nerfing aoe next month. (in the solo instance) You could aoe cleave the entire waves 1/2, every single day on the empty servers. Infinite money glitch. Shouldn't have drops at all. Just encourages bad actors. They knew not to give solo vagary drops and to heavily nerf SR solo drops, but clearly forgot the rules. Yeah I thought the whole point was just to let people RP items, didn't realise it had drops too.

To me, the Chev. Gauntlets seem very good. All the guides appear to favour Sakpata. Sakpata does have more offensive stats and slightly more m.eva, but the shield defence bonus+ seems good to me (Reduces blocked damage taken by an additional -5 points of damage). When you're basically guaranteed to block, e.g. Duban, the flat dmg reduction seems really strong then also the benefit of the increased empy proc, though wouldn't be worth just for that. Am I missing something / valueing SDB too highly? Physical damage isn’t dangerous currently.
Something was changed there recently, probably behaves differently now.

Am I missing something / valueing SDB too highly? In a purely physical turtle scenario maybe it has a place but you can look at it as additional phalanx on a block and a blocked hit is already greatly reduced into the single/double digits so the meva and +1 mdb are more appreciated in a general sense since majority of fights are just as if not more magic/enfeeb heavy, better to dodge a debuff then bring a 30-40 dmg block to 25-35. Also it's effects are reduced at higher PDT since it occurs before DT is applied, so its probably only -2~ on block dmg What's the current thinking on TH gear? Max base level is something like 8, but upgrade rate is based on the difference between the monster's current level and your current level, so do we stack all of it to hope for faster upgrades?
The more slots you waste on TH the lower your dps so that gives you more chances to proc and more time to do it.
pretty sure thorny did a bunch of rounds some with max TH in gear and others with none and the increase rate was pitiful and generally not worth the hassle beyond something like hoxne ring as i think that's likely the most substantial boost available, along with THFs TH rate increase gift.
https://www.ffxiah.com/forum/topic/55788/treasure-hunter-proc-rate-testing-th-8-versus-14/7/#3688687 FFXIclopedia says Tree Cuttings have ice affinity, but BG says water. I'm guessing no one actually knows.
Obviously Byrth is perfectly capable of interpreting data, but my take from my test was that TH gear past 8 does nothing to change the upgrade rate. Differences existed, but all were well within the margin of error. It's absolutely not a straight delta that factors in TH greater than 8 (far past 99% CI that wearing TH15 has a lower chance of upgrading TH13->TH14 than wearing TH8 upgrading TH8->TH9).
Does anyone know exactly how Haste Samba works?
I mean, from a programming perspective/buff/debuff interaction. When you hit a monster with haste daze, you see the animation if you don't have any Enspells, but I was curious since you don't actually get even a temporary buff showcasing increased JA haste, how exactly is it increasing your JA haste as you strike? What criteria actually prevents it, and does it have any fickle interactions / weird stuff go on behind the scenes? Bring me all the info on Haste Samba! I want to know more! Doing some ROE in SOA area and HELM i keep getting "You are too fatigued" I cant find any info of how to shorten the fatigue. Any info would be great. thanks :)

Its a debuff on the mob that gets refreshed every time the char with samba hits it.
Buff id 378-380

Any info would be great. thanks :) You have Ionis? It makes a massive difference in the fatigue rate. there's also the improved tools available for bayld that give you an extra 10 attempts before each zoning (stacks with the Ionis bonus)
...and while they don't specifically affect fatigue there's the key items for bayld that make you sometimes not use picks / get two items / get rarer items edit: beaten and I forgot the gear. shameful on my part! I never changed my filter settings in *** but recently it is blocking everything, even non chinese RMT spam ***. Any better addons to do this but not miss things I actually want to see?
I tied for first place in Vana'bout. However, I never spoke to the moogle before it ended to do something with my score. My name is still ??? in the Moogle's list and I didn't get my title. Just seeing if there's anything else that I can do.
I'm going to be indignant if they screw me out of the title because I missed talking to an NPC by 5 minutes. Pretty sure youre SOL if you forgot to register
But not certain. Is there a way to get maps for some of the event instanced zones that say "no map" in the map menu (I'm thinking Delve and Incursion here, maybe skirmish, might be others, I have sortie and old dyna maps, I know oddy, new dyna, limbus are "unmapped" areas and the map menu just doesn't work)
A vaguely recall one event (don't remember which - Delve maybe) gave some arduous process to get a map during the event but it wasn't permanent, and wasted large amounts of time (i could be miss remembering though as this was 10+ years ago) Have 110 CC from years ago when used to farm spiders in tree for rainbow thread. Before ToAU killed the market.
Anyway thinking about making a crafting shield. Is CC one worth it or is there a better craft to try and get the shield on? Thanks. Don't make a shield is my advice.
Do you like gambling half a billion in order to make 1-2B or lose all of it? If so then a shield is for you. Mainly it would be to work towards my mastery rank since that matters kinda now...
