Half Life 2: Episode Tow kinda makes me angry. Aside from the fact there is no such game, the game they are referring to is a cliffhanger. A cliffhanger mind you that has yet to be resolved. To me that's a very shitty ending.
I'm not going to go through the whole list, because I haven't played most of those games. But are they referring to Super Mario Bros for NES? Really?

I'm sure they didn't didn't conduct their surveys correctly, you would have to have people who have played many games, if not all of them on the list, to give a valid opinion.

13k voters is a pretty narrow margin to conclude something that drastic in the entire established community or demograph of video game players.
That alone is worth taking the list as a grain of salt, but it wouldn't surprise me at all if publishers had their degree of control over whom was polled and what outcomes were made.

Sonic Adventure Battle:2 had an ending that made my mom cry, it was pretty emotional, but predictable.

interesting list >.> though really, if you ask someone what game had the best of a certain aspect, they will just reply with the current game they like the most without regarding the aspect. Nier has been highly regarded for its amazing music, try asking someone that hated the gameplay how they liked the music, they will just reply "its crap, its all crap". hell look at any game rating on gamefaqs, people will do all the different x/10 aspects based on what they want the final score to be, people rate XIII's graphics at 1/10 just cause they want to say they hate the game and therefore everything must be bad... same goes this way

I saw this list too. It's safe to assume the survey was probably conducted outside GAME stores on the launch of the new COD game.

In fairness though, the endings to Halo are pretty damn good. Can't really say the same about COD.

ffx had a great ending, xenosaga ep 1 , this list is so wrong
(I hope i don't regret saying this >.>) while i fully enjoyed FFVII... of all the IV~ FF games i think it had the least interesting/developed ending... idk, it just seemed very short and kinda uneventful and lacked closure. then again it has plenty of sequels XD
I will be the first to say I get hundreds of great hours of game time out of every new COD launch. Then again, a few of us get on nearly nightly and play together, so it's more camaraderie than it is the actual game. Best ending ever? Definitely not.

Bioshock got screwed, one of the only games that made me O.O when the truth came out.... "Would you kindly......" amazing.
