people aren't reading my post, so i bolded what my recommendation was. it wasn't to drop it to 150 and call it a day, but to drop it to 150 and change it to rare/ex, so NON-TRADABLE preventing people from just throwing money at a trial. This would also prevent RMT, cause if someone wants it badly enough but isn't going to put in the effort, then this can cause more RMTs to come back and i thought the idea was to discourage RMTs

If you really think that stops RMT in any way, you haven't put nearly enough thought in to this to be making suggestions.

if making it rare/ex and keeping the current system in place doesn't deter RMTs, then please let me ask you how it doesn't, cause it has prevented people from just buying Keggan's body......

edit: yes i know there's another buyable body, but you can compare people who actually do vw and put in effort for something rather then just buy the weaker one. with the current system and plates being sellable, you can't tell the difference between a good player and a player who just bought all their plates

Wouldn't RMT just rather make a bunch of accounts and earn crour 24/7?

You can still sell alliance slots, and there have definitely been people buying Voidwatch drops.

i'd also like to note, the issue isn't RMTs making money off VW, but rather they make money off other things, then sell the money to players who are too lazy to do VW or make their own money, and then those players buy the plates, cheating the game so to speak.

Not so much cheating the game as much as it is re-appropriating time spent on other activities, but that's another matter.

Changing plates to r/ex wouldn't come close to stemming the tide of RMT.

it would take a nice chunk out of it though, with a key step in empys being rare/ex only, people wouldn't turn to throwing money at it, but would actually have to put time and effort into it

Personally I think a lil RMT is healthy in an online game, but that's just me.

The people who buy 1500 plates aren't all RMT, in fact a majority probably aren't. I know three at least that simply had capped gil form the Tavnazian Safehold glitch way back when CoP was first released, and others that do cruor burning. RMTs aren't getting a major part of their market filled in by people buying heavy metal plates.

You were able to buy a certain item from an NPC and sell it back for a profit. They banned very few of the people that did it, and took quite a bit to fix it.

You should really study economics sometime.

You should really study economics sometime.

Economics: the only field where the same mathematical equation can mean two entirely opposite things.

No they're hearing right, what they aren't hearing is how it doesn't work for the wielder and is sub-5% crit rate boost.

Don't forget not stacking with Aftermath!

wait wait wait wait waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaait

so you get afterglow instead of aftermath...? Like... instead of ODD on an empyrean you get 5% crit rate on everyone but yourself? if so, that's completely ***.

No, it just means that only people without their own Aftermath up will benefit from your Afterglow.

So, SAM, DRG, and gimps.

YOU REALLY WANNA SPEND 600,000,000g SO GIMPS HAVE MORE C.RATE!?

Last I checked, OAT polearm was still competitive with Ryunohige, especially considering Ryunohige suffer's Drakesbane's woes.
