What are you, stupid? It's called a loan for a reason, they don't just want coins to keep. They want a loan for the final 3k which they'll return shortly after when they get those 3k back from the final cutscene, duh.

I was shouting to buy bronzes in port jeuno not too long ago and some guy randomly asked me to loan him 3 M.silverpieces. Being the cautious cad that I am, I asked him for collateral. Nice galka traded me a Novio to hold until he came back to return my currency. He even threw in 2 extra M.'s for my trouble, lol.
