People are whining because they think there is nothing in it for them, agreed but that perception is 100% wrong.
Every drop in this game is worth something to someone, weather you sell it on the AH, bazaar it, or sell the right to it. There are 1000s of relics out there which now need 5 of these new items. No one has to get screwed, just free yourself from the "oh it sucks, lets just whine about it" mentality.
Get some friends together, make a plan, and get your ADL on. The drops will be worth millions.
Actually, I would like to point out this mentality to all of the people whom do not own a relic. Get the potential shadow mantle/ring, chance at a sagasinger, and divide up the cost of the Marrow among the linkshell members.
Sure, most people can pull in 1-2 mil soloing in dynamis. But who the *** wants to do that every single day. Farm ADL instead, make a little less gil than you would have solo. And get a shot at some not completely worthless items. I'd love a shadow mantle/ring from DL, and I don't want to solo farm dynamis. Especially with how many people are selling currency right now.
The market may be empty right now, but when people that really really want their 99 are buying them at 40 mil a piece, this is a blessing for non-relic owners.

Stage 3 half way done. I need about 110 Silvers but all my items in xarca/beauc are all done. I just been busy with my daughter and work lately haven't had time to dynamis except LSE. Back to the grind today though, baby with her mom and all day to make money and farm dynamis.

I've already pointed out the shortcoming on all of ADL's drops, they are COMPLETELY WORTHLESS ITEMS. Archon's Cape is basically a Shadow mantle that, instead of annuling 5-10% of attacks directed at you, will annul (presumably) 5-10% of severe damage attacks directed at you. WONDERFUL

You probably got your relic because thinking THIS way afforded you a framework by which to efficiently use your time!
Try changing your thinking and you might see the trial become easier.

Idk what server ur on but here ppl charge for EVERYTHING, xp,r/ex, crafting and everything inbetween. So idk where u got this crazy idea we can get more then 2-3 ppl to help out of kindess.

Quite the opposite, really. I don't want to drag along my friends on a ridiculous grind of ADL when I'm the only one who's going to benefit. That's not how I operate, and that's why I hate, hate, HATE, this trial. It's even more galling when every other trial before it was doable with - at most - a party, and took one day of their dynamis timer, not a week+ (even in the best case scenario).
Stop ascribing motivations to people you don't even know.

Edit: Hell can be even faster than 3 days if you got enough COR mules and are lucky. Takes maybe 20-30min to farm a pop for ADL. Not like it's hard. ***was meant for 90 content.

What if you got 18 people together and did enough runs to get everyone 5 of the marrows? You could distribute the marrows after all the runs. You get your relic finished (and anyone who also had relic), the non-relic people get whatever they can sell 5 marrows for. i dunno...

You must've missed how I explained how my LS does things. Yes we have incentives to keep people coming. And it's money. Who doesn't want more money than they would get even if they farmed their own dyna currency?

I want my friends to not have to essentially forfeit millions of gil to upgrade my weapon. Is that really so crazy?
Why shouldn't I be pissed off that my path to re-completing a weapon I already finished five damn years ago forces me to punish my friends, or pay them off, to compensate?
Mine wouldn't charge, but if the argument you want to come back with is, "just compensate them for the lost gil", then stop; that's an absolutely insane game mechanic, and anyone who says with a straight face that that's okay is huffing paint.

back then people had "incentives" to go to dyna, Af2 and some shells even let you lot the 1st 100 piece.

| [dev1065] Relic, Mythic, and Empyrean Weapon Upgrades
With the forthcoming version update, players will be able to upgrade equipment to level 99 in two stages:
Stage 1
Possible upgrades will include damage, delay, and weapon skill damage along with other attributes.
The planned difficulty level for the corresponding Magian upgrade trials will be such that a majority of players with the appropriate level 95 equipment will likely be able to complete them.
*This content is not yet available on the test server.
Step 2
Possible upgrades will include special animations along with "Afterglow" effects that grant status benefits to party members.
The corresponding Magian trials will be exceedingly difficult to complete, such that only a select number of PCs will be able to upgrade weapons to this stage.
*Gjallarhorn and Daurdabla may not be imbued with Afterglow effects.
Upgraded Attributes
Please refer to the following charts for descriptions of upgraded weapon attributes:
To test this content, please talk to the Magian Moogle and input the corresponding trial number, as listed in the charts above.
Afterglow
Upgrading a weapon to stage two will result in the addition of an Afterglow effect.
Afterglow bestows beneficial status effects upon party members in an area surrounding (but excluding) the wielder.
*Party members must be inside the specified area when Afterglow is activated to receive status effects.
The duration for each Afterglow is thirty seconds.
*The effect of a certain Afterglow will be overwritten if an identical one is activated within that thirty-second timeframe.
Separate Afterglow effects will stack if they are cast within the same effect duration.
There are five categories of Afterglow effects:
- Relic Weapons: Increased accuracy and ranged accuracy
- Mythic weapons: Increased attack and ranged attack
- Empyrean weapons: Increased critical hit rate
- Aegis: Reduced magic damage taken
- Ochain: Reduced physical damage taken
Afterglow effects activate when the weapon skill corresponding to the equipped weapon
For Aegis and Ochain, the effects activate when Shield Bash is used.
The hierarchy for overwriting Aftermath and Afterglow effects is as follows:
One's Own Aftermath: Lv3>Lv2>Lv1>Party Member's Afterglow
Visual Effects
Weapons upgraded to stage two will display special visual effects when equipped:
Relic Weapons

Mythic Weapons

Empyrean Weapons

Visual effects will display in the following priority:
Main Weapon>Ranged Weapon>Sub Weapon
Other Information of Note
Additional planned features, such as equipment-specific magic spells and pets, have been postponed to allow for more thorough testing concerning attributes, the number of potential users and the process by which to obtain them. One consideration is whether to implement such features as another stage of the above upgrades, or to apply them to a different set of equipment. Also under deliberation is whether to limit the availability of such equipment or make it relatively simple to obtain.
