Destrier Beret And Registering Codes.

So with the new changes to the way Playonline is handling everything, all the guides to getting this are outdated. It can no longer be done through the play online viewer. It has to be done through account management on their website, and I have looked through this thing for the last 30 minutes and can't find anything. Does anyone know how to do this now?

Also, I did not purchase the Abyssea pack, I purchased the abyssea expansions separately before the actual pack was released. Am I still able to get this?

The beret is for buying the pack that included all 3 abyssea expansions. When purchasing said pack, you receive a code to redeem on your SE account section.

Yes I understand that but WHERE do you actually go to do this. it used to be done through the playonline viewer, but when you try and do it through there it says that you must go through the square enix website to do it. I can't for the life of me find where it is done on the square enix website.

I'm at work atm so I don't have my tokens. There should be a "code redeemer"-esque page. It is the same page you would enter your cd's/expansions' codes. If you can't find it, I can paste an image or two when I get out of here in an hour.

I got a Zeppelin song stuck in my head but I can't remember the name for the life of me. Starts out really mellow....

Ok that would be very helpful. I'm looking all over their webpages and can't find anything. Even their "guide" to purchasing registration codes gives you a walkthrough of how to do it through the playonline viewer, but they removed that capabilities recently so even that is out dated and that's all they have. So fail.

I had this issue too for my 2nd account a while ago but I found it eventually:

Log in.

Select service (on the menu to the left).

Add service account to existing POL account.

Enter code.

Select which character to add the hat to.

Log in game and talk to a festive moogle.

Is this done on the playonline viewer?

Ok I found that. So even If I already purchased the abyssea expansions prior to this being released, I cannot get this item unless i re-purchase the abyssea add-on pack?

I think you can only get it by buying the Ultimate Collection - Abyssea pack, which is what I got. Don't take my word for it though, I'm not that sure.

20$ for an In-Game item only usable to lvl 30. Awesome.

1st purchase the Final Fantasy XI: Ultimate Collection Abyssea Edition... thru either Steam or thru Amazon's download service.

I personally bought one copy from Amazon's download service and one from Steam (I had 2 accounts). It's been a while so I don't remember all the details, but you get 2 codes (1 for the game content/expansion, and 1 for the Destrier Beret). You do NOT have to download the game installer for either service in order to get the codes once purchased.

To redeem it you log into your SE account page (I no longer play so I'm going by what I remember). I believe on the left side near the bottom of the list there's an option to list services. Then you get an option on the right side that allows you to add a game service code. I remember it not being worded well and it only appears that you can only use game content/expansion codes, but you put in your Destrier Beret code in that same field and submit it.

It is very much worth it for your new character though. xD The movement speed alone is very nice for training mobs while getting somewhere else.

Just a note about the digital download @ Amazon: right now it's 19.95, but they seem to change the price on it by the day. I bought it a month ago for 4.99 (impulse buy...) and was going to link someone else to it the next day but it had changed to 9.99. After that I've watched it go from between 10 and 20-- I've since lost interest, haven't seen it at 4.99 again, but it might be worth keeping an eye on if you're interested.

I ended up deleting the Character I had designated to receive this item. How can I choose a diff character to get the hat?

If you deleted the character after entering in the code you're out of luck :(

Personally wanted to thank you for this. Have had a new character for roughly 1 year and didnt know where to do this and forgot about it. Just did this for my character and worked. Thanks again!

Slight necrobump, but figure it is better than remaking a whole new subject about the very thing I was needing information about.

I had the same thing happen to my friend as well.

Although: I did re-buy the code and have one to get another Beret.

I wanted to surprise them by giving them the hat on another character. However when I type the code in "Add code to existing account" it doesn't let me use the code at all.

Can you not register multiple Beret codes per account?

Note: Old Character that had Beret is deleted and a new character had been made. I'm trying to get the second code registered to work on that character.

Something to add to all this, remember to enter codes in Caps lol Wrecked my brain for a while before I realized ;p

I bought the xbox ultimate collection and it had two codes. One for the Chocobo shirt and one for the Destrier Beret. I put them both in (correctly I think, will check tonight) but the Festive Moogle only gave me the shirt?

Is the Beret code expired? I mean it did come inside my brand new SOA Ultimate collection box.
