Evasion

Am I going crazy here, or since update has anyone else noticed their evasion is not what it used to be? DC mobs seem to be much more accurate.

I was just having a discussion with a friend last night about this lol. It seems pure eva+ > eva skill points.

Decent mobs always have had decent accuracy(lol). Evasion skill helps overall but flat out evasion gear seems to really make the difference.

1 skill = 0.9 evasion, tested and proven a while ago, not nearly a noticeable enough difference for such wild claims.

The point is a 99 THF with capped evasion with 4/4 evasion merits will not cut it for solid evasion tanking.It sure as hell wasn't the case at 75 and it isn't the case now. But it's great now with the trial daggers adding on so much evasion and decent DPS and delay on them without having to hinder your TP set.

SE has changed DC mobs for balance

It's not unreasonable to assume that base skill would be capped and thus you were referring to eva skill gear, same for Krystyl's post. My response was based on that. If you're playing an eva job that you've had for more than a few weeks and don't have capped base skill, I don't know what to tell you.

Follow up question: What is considered capped evasion at 99, and is it the same amount(+eva gear) as it was at 75?

Evasion caps when your attacker's hit rate is at 20% (hits you one in 5 times). It varies by how much accuracy your enemy has, and how high your evasion is naturally.
