I've been using Thunder Breath for a bit today while finding more and more hp gear and I think I've reached my max for now at least.

Atmas:

Dark Blade +40% hp
Ebon Hoof +30% hp
Impregnable Tower +30% hp

+breath damage gear:

Saurian Helm
Ardor Pendant
Mavi Tathlum
Glassblower's Belt

Max HP Boost II and as many spells as I could fit with nice hp as well. I was /nin just so I could get the spell off since I didn't set a sleep. (no food)

Max hp: 7951
Max hp: with +breath damage gear: 7440

Highest damage was: 6277

Actually you could boots your hp much higher. You are missing two key hp sets.

the lloyl clogs hp/mp 4% from castle O (s) nm.
and the 4% hp bonous set from the hnm formor king in crawlers nest S.

I have the Llwyd's Clogs, but they aren't better than Homam Gambieras inside of abyssea. They give me less hp when I put them on.

Before I really went for a full hp build I was at 6498 hp and I bought the boots from someone and tried them on thinking that I would get a serious hp boost and they only gave me 1 more hp lol. Homam Gambieras give a lot more hp.

The clogs do work better outside of abyssea though. It has something to do with your base hp I think.

Just wondering what the items for the 4% hp bonus set from the hnm fomor were called, I couldn't figure it out.

HP% items work off your base HP, yeah, and they're included additively with cruor buffs and HP atmas. As such, they're not that great in Abyssea as you saw.
