Beyond Infinity
Did it with PLD, THF, BSTx2, RDM, WHM and a second time with PLD, BSTx2, WHMx2, SMN.
Both fights w/o 2h The only stupid thing about this fight is trying to enter the damn BC.
Did this fight last night, directly after the maintenance.
Setup was PLD/WAR (no empy/relic), SAM/WAR (amano), DRG/SAM, MNK/NIN (me), MNK/NIN (spharai) and RDM/WHM. No items were used. We failed the first time because we had no idea what we were up against. As soon as the PLD went in he got 1-shotted by asuran fists. After that it was all down hill. On the second attempt we had the spharai MNK change to WHM/SCH. We won with this setup. No items were used. A few tips: (haven't read the entire thread. Sorry if i'm repeating things.) - MNK (asuran fists too) does a lot of dmg. (I had to turn my back a lot). But being /nin is a big disadvantage. Any multi hit WS (maintly asuran fists) will hurt you if you don't have 3 shadows up. Any WS without shadows up will hurt a lot. If it doesn't 1-shot you. - Third Eye works very well for defense. Because multi-hit WSs will all be blinked. - The PLD can use invincible during the taru's hundred fists. And directly use sentinel as soon as invincible wears off. (Invincible is 30 seconds, hundred fists is 45.) That's about it. If you know what you're doing, you don't need any items. And you don't need a party full of empyrean/relic weapons either. We were well geared though (bar empyrean/relic weapons). Except for Invincible, no 2hrs were used. Good luck. I know many folks have different views with me, but that is their choice. It's only fun if you can win. :/ Wish I knew a good place to get a couple of those Fossilized Items. Best setup for the group I'm in is 5x BLM. But definitely need a Rarab Tail or two.

(PLD had Ochain and Aegis). I hate that taru and the Olde Rarab Tail item actually made it more difficult since it made him run around and had to chase him. Reminds me of the old Promyvion days with the anima.
I may have to level BST to 95 and go the pet route if I can't get the win by this weekend. Either that or farm BLU spells so I ding into them. :-|

Fang from a Trimmer in the Wadi, and then 1/1 on Bone from a Hovering Oculus. Cerberus.Tidis said: » The only stupid thing about this fight is trying to enter the damn BC. just won there now 1/7 lol had a 99pld (ochain) whmx2 mnk sam and rdm for chain stun when he 2hrs. no items used.
I just hope the Ppl who QQd in the thread about them making this fight "Easier" did it with a normal strategy and no a cheap "chainspell zerg" or "PD zerg" otherwise i will be saddened. also no items :O
I assume with 5 BLMS we shouldn't need more than 2 Rarab Tails?
Bahamut.Bojack said: » I assume with 5 BLMS we shouldn't need more than 2 Rarab Tails? One would probably do it. Won't need more than 2 for sure. Good luck! Are there any other zones that are just out of the way and still have dc to 95 mobs?
just did this DRK(me),MNKx2,DNC,SMN,WHM. SMN PD and MNK 2hour and its dead. Also its been stated but multi hit ws only. Tried Torcleaver for fun and only did 90dmg.
btw with all the new ws being multihit i wonder if this will be a new Thing from SE... capping the dmg from a single hit.
Just did it and won in 2 minutes 30 seconds. Was 4 MNKs, a WAR, and a smn with PD. He died shortly after hundred fist wore off.
Items needed:
Recommended setup:
First you're going to want to farm 3 seasoning stones so everyone can have access to the battlefield. When the Moogle asks where you'd like to warp go to the bottom of the list and choose 'Nowhere at the moment'. [If previous step has been completed omit 1 seasoning stone in the recipe for every person who has completed it.] I suggest having a TH5 atleast THF in your party to farm the Fossilized items as they can be a pain to get. Fossilized Fang drops from Trimmers, Opo-Opo's and the like found at around (I-7) in Dangruf Wadi. (That's IV Bastok Voidwatch if you have access to that warp) Fossilized Bone drops from Peapuk's in The Boyahda Tree as well as the Crawlers and Crabs from what I remember. Seasoning Stone can drop from any monster listed above. Once you have the above, First you will turn in the seasoning stone as listed. The other items will now be taken to Bastok Markets, and talk to Degenard. (He's by the Bastok Mines entrance from Markets and looks identical to Maat) He will request the Following: Fossilized Fang, and Bone as well as a Seasoning stone. Trade the items to him to obtain your Olde Rarab Tail item. -------------------- The battlefield is uncapped (Level 99) so you can buff up outside and they will not wear off. I do recommend bringing a RDM with decent elemental skill and gear for Refresh II and nuking purposes, but it entirely up to you. Before entering the BCNM make sure a proper Olde Rarab Tail order is set up as panicking in a situation as is, is not needed. Once inside and the order is established have everyone line up as normal and the second the first person in the order uses their Olde Rarab Tail, Proceed with the nuking down. If he stops running at all, be ready to use the item to make him run around in circles again. I hope this all makes an easy win, with this Strategy I won last night @5mins, but could have easily shaved off more time had we had better nukers. Any questions, feel free to PM me, or ask on this thread. EDIT: OOPS, I forgot to list how to obtain the rarab tail item. With my above strategy I went 1/1 on the BCNM.
Best of luck to everyone! :D 3 MNK Hundred Fists
1x WAR/NIN Axe/Joy(Me 25 haste+Suppa) SCH SMN Hastega/Embrava/EnBlizzard/Stuff Raped it easy and didnt bother weaponskilling. Just nonstop DoT Bismarck.Eburo said: » Yay for timing out at 1%, *** rage Did this again last night to help a friend and my wife pass.
The setup was x3 BST, myself being 99. I used turtle and they both used sheep. Had to bring at least 10 Dawn Mulsums for each. The fight never came to a point of needing to constantly spam the Mulsums, but my turtle did come close to dying at one point with 3 consecutive WSs from the little guy. Easy win. 6 x BST, piece of cake, couple of mins

Just got done with this fight. not extremely difficult, not extremely easy. setup was MNKx3, SMN, BLU, RNG. Go in, have the SMN Rolling Thunder then PD, and then DDs pretty much just have at it. used 2 hrs, killed it within 60 seconds after engaging. Didnt use the tail at all. I used an I-Wing for insurance at the start of the fight. MNKs subbed WAR, BLU subbed NIN, RNG subbed NIN, SMN subbed RDM.
Have SMNs forgot Inferno howl exists, use it!
