What is the issue with having them if your resolution is wide, it was created to fit all 8 characters of your macro name plus includes symbols.

Anyways now that there are two examples of macro palettes I'm sure someone will make their own design.
I didn't realize that there was another thread complaining about this.
Any changes in the UI can effect gameplay. I could care less if I can /emote to myself in my macros, for whatever *** HELP I AM TRAPPED IN 2006 PLEASE SEND A TIME MACHINE reason SE decided to add this waste of dev team time it is annoying.

You can always post on the official forums that you don't like the change and would like an option to keep the original macro palette if you wish.
Nah, Ill just flail about on here for a while then ignore it... Unless SE is magically taking user suggestions. ^^

I think they're alright. I really don't like the contrast between the white font and the really light blue background though. I wish that could be changed.
What happens if your macros look the exact same and not all spaced out? <.< >.>;

Then you're playing on PS2/3 so your UI was never changed.

I'm sure they can enhance the font and possibly make nice tweaks of different sizes.
I think my DL messed up lol, I'm on PC and still have the old macro boxes.

If your computer isn't wide screen then you probably won't have the new palette. If it is then change your resolution to something like this:
x : 1280
y : 760

i dunno if this fits in here but i need some lil help...since the update i can't open up my macro palette via ctrl...nothing works...when i try to switch the book it gets stuck there...does it maybe have to do something with UI dats? :S

UI dats? I'm sure there isn't an updated version of it. Did you try to put xiview dats in?
ya tried to update with xi view 1.10 (thought its worth a shot cause sometimes there was no real change)
anyways tried to overwrite those files with an older backup but didnt work either :S

I see that, but I could have sworn they said you would be able to write longer titles too. I see you can space now :\
