I have my file check running now Krizz, no .dat mods, and I used your DL that Scragg mirrored.. I'll let you know if a bit if somebody else doesn't already.

Will that work in my case as well? Instead of redoing the "check files" I just proceeded to where FFXI would normally update. The screen just before character selection or w/e. It's doing the 3 tier update again, though the first step seems to be checking ALL files again. So step 1 is checking like 40k files, step 2 should JUST DL the ones I need right?

Ok I will sound like a total newb, just downloaded the .rar where do i paste it?
I'll let ya know how it works, if it somehow does. At least next update I won't be so slow when it comes to stuff like this. X{D

I did a patch before where I didn't file check before and went straight to play/update files.
There were a few JA's corrupted and would crash my game. When I file checked it fixed them and worked fine.
Might of just been me though...

Ya mean cuz war was too OP and you wanted it to stay that way? :P
It checked 30,500~ files, is downloading 20. I'll let you guys know if it crashes at all.
I am a lil confused though Krizz. I DL'd your file, i extracted it to the right folder (directly to the Square Enix one like it said on the guide), but its still checking my version update like it needs to re-DL when I tried to log in :(.

Same, i checked files 1st, and its caught in a loop of checking files.
The it locks on dl'ing 40.dat.

now it got past 40.dat, must be SE servers to full

Appears to have froze on the DL screen. Didn't even finish DLing the first file. My system is all jacked up apparently lol.
Though I've never done it this way before.. does SE have to check it again when you try to log in? This could be standard and I just not know, since I've never done this method before lol. I always just updated through POL

I applied files.
Did check on Pol and FFXI. Both were no problems found.
Now i'm redownloading the whole thing again.

Went to log in, and it did that check thing again.
So far all normal right?
After it fixed the 10 files or so that were missing, it went to log in to the game... crashed.
Tried again... crashed.
Checking files again to see if that works.
If anyone has any advice for me, please let me know. My computer expertise is at a 3rd grade level. I am lucky if I can turn it on without lighting it on fire.

the same thing happened to me :(
NO, ok krizz you're fine.. POL does have to check again before you log in, I didn't have to DL anything and the re-check only took 10m. I'm back in-game long before POL would have taken to get me the files! THANKS! ^^
I should go sit in Westchester Airport for the whole 5 minutes it would take to download the update on their incredibly fast 85mb/sec internet.
