My avatar is left-handed.

Aside from the elites who likely also already have one or more Empyreans among other things, not everyone walks around with a gear set for every stat all the time.
I stopped reading here.
Yea... wall of text.
In short, not everyone has that kind of space/time/gil to dump into a gear set for every stat for every job. Some people actually play 15+ and settle on decent as opposed to the best. I was curious how WS would perform for people like that.
Better? <_<
Or was it simply because I was trying to see how much the *gasp* average player might get out of it?
Nope, I meant that anyone should take the minimum effort of having the right gear for their ws of choice. The average player does that.

inb4 I don't like gearswapping.

Clearly /DRK casting Aero to get TP with Occult Acumen.

(I think I need to kill myself for typing that.)

eh... I see a lot of bad players out there these days, perhaps my definition of average isn't the same as yours... lol. I'm sure with a decent gear set and being on thief or dancer would help it out a lot, but I still think your definition of average player is likely to get similar or better numbers with evisceration. Unless thief or dancer main with good gear sets for it etc, I simply think they may benefit more putting those 100 merits into a different weaponskill. a 600-1k damage difference is about what I was seeing for dagger. Don't even get me started on great axe... <_< If you have even WoE version of Ukko's fury, stick with that for sure. With a really good gear set Upheaval might be close to raging rush on average, but hard to say. Didn't have more time to play with it. Also, definately put 5/5 into any of the new WS you pick. I did also try with just 1 point just to see how bad it would be, and it's REALLY bad lol.

If the average player had no plans on playing THF, DNC, or melee BRD, the average player would not bother to unlock Exenterator.

Of course it sucks with just 1 merit, why should it be otherwise?
And 600-1k dmg per ws is a worthwhile difference. If it isn't why not just use Shark bite then? Now I see why you don't consider ws gearsets...afterall it's a small difference right?

average player just may, but not as their main. I also will not be surprised if there are people out there who put 1 point into every one just because they want them all.

That was the damage gap, not damage per WS. Evisceration was pushing close to 2k on mobs by Vollbow OP. granted evisceration was not as consistent as the other, it still put out much higher numbers. As I said, I think you would need a superb gear set to close the gap, not a decent one.

Yes, and there are people who think that gear swapping is for soloists only.

What is the exact point you're trying to make about an average player by pointing out the existence of the bottom of the barrel?

You underestimate the power of a 100% mod versus a 30% mod.

Just 60 of the relevant stat, and you're looking at adding 51 base damage to your weapon vs. adding 18 damage to your weapon.

Probably a troll, I can't help but laugh though

Oh god, is that real?

Sorry for the late reply, I'm hoping it's a horrible fan-made song.
But they have been releasing some Soundtrack samples and they do sound really great.

I don't get what audience they are trying to appeal to.... lol. I mean the sound after they quit the talking is cool at 0:48 seconds into the vid. I can see it being cool for some aquatic like ambiance area.

That's honestly one of my more favorite of their tracks. But otherwise it's all pretty HELP I AM TRAPPED IN 2006 PLEASE SEND A TIME MACHINE. Like I'm all cool for them trying to revise their image and gameplay. But keep your soundtracks how you've always had them. They usually do a spot on job of it. *** FFX was my favorite by far.

This one as well is another good one and kept to their original type style. Leaving it climatic yet composed and not some randomized song that doesn't fit in with the game or scenery..

* [dev1034] The amount of experience and Allied Notes earned from successful Campaign operations has been increased.

it wasn't high enough as is?

o VNMs now possess an extra weakness.
These weaknesses may only be triggered once per battle, and exploiting them will increase all spectral alignment values to their maximum level.
o Synchronic Blitz now yields additional bonuses.
Players will now receive spectral alignment bonuses based on the number of times their weapon skills, abilities, or magic attacks strike an enemy during a synchronic blitz.
o New varieties of atmacite and abyssite have been added.
o A new key item, the periapt of clarity, has been added.
Bearers of this periapt and the periapt of percipience are granted insight into the magic type (white magic, black magic, blue magic, bard songs, ninjutsu) and element of their Voidwalker foe's weakness.
o When infusing atmacite, players will be given the option to replace the selected atmacite after confirming its effects.
o The glossary of game terms on the official homepage has been updated with the latest Voidwatch terminology.

That is sexy all in all.

* [dev1032] It is now more likely that the key item Clear Demilune Abyssite will evolve into Colorful Demilune Abyssite

Really just now you are fixing that?

Attributes: Increased from 8 to 12

That's pretty beast.

* Automatons may now learn the following spells:
Protect (I-V) / Shell (I-V) / Stoneskin / Haste / Phalanx / Erase / Absorb-Attri / Dispel / Dread Spikes* / Addle / Regen IV

Go **** yourself SE

* Items will no longer be lost if paralyzed while using them.

Quite possibly the best update. Now I can use cells in salvage without worry!

*New Magian trials for Relic, Mythic, and Empyrean weapons have been delayed to allow time for proper balancing.
They are scheduled to be introduced to the test server in the near future and implemented in the release version in an additional version update.
The items required for the trials, however, have been introduced in advance in this version update.

This isn't battles, it's ops. Like streetsweeper. Those were never all that high even if you have 5 stars.
