It may help to note that there isn't just one resource file.

In:
Windower\plugins
There is a file called resources.xml.

To update this you need to go to http://resources.windower.net/resources.xml
once you go to this page in your browser, just hit file->save and then save it to the windower\plugins folder. Once you save over it, it'll update that part.

Next you have the various items in the actual 'resources' folder:
Windower\plugins\resources
Here you have 9 files.
Abils.xml
Areas.xml
Items_armor.xml
Items_general.xml
Items_weapons.xml
Md5check.xml
Resources.log
Spells.xml
Status.xml

These auto update when you log in. You can check the resources.log file in order to see if it was updated recently.

Hope this helps, if you have more trouble just try to be as specific as possible with what you are doing and what is wrong.

You are saving it in your plugins folder right?

Restraint has been updated long ago. Need to update your resource files.

while we are on the topic. can we change the element or add a "type" category to weaponskills to piercing/slashing/blunt.

Categorize blue spells as elemental or physical types as well as piercing/slashing/blunt.

i have no problem contributing to leg work if needed.
