Please use this as a guide into making player warning threads on this website.
1) Make sure the title of the player warning thread has the name of the player and the name of the server. How can we know anything about a random player who stole that K.Club from you if people don't know which server to look at/for. And since this site currently has a "Recent Post" section on the front page, we don't know who the player warning is for (meaning which server) unless you post it on the title.
Example: Player Warning: Korpg of Asura.
2) Make sure you place the player warning on the correct server forum. That way, when the thread dies, it stays on that server's forum instead of being buried in the General Section of the forum. Most server forums are only 1 page long, so it will be on the front page of that server forum for a very long time. Even if the server forum's activities are higher than normal, it will still be on the front page for a very long time.
Example: Player Warning: Korpg of Asura. in the Asura thread.
3) Bring evidence. SS or it didn't happen. That concept is a generally accepted practice of player warning threads. If you don't play on a PC, then take a photo of the event. If you don't have a camera, then shout in Whitegate about the event. Don't make a player warning thread without evidence.
4) Don't bring your friend into this. Friends have biases too, don't let them be your biases. Don't start a thread saying your best friend in the world got his O.Kote stolen from a Ninja Lot Bot. Unless you can bring proof of the transaction though. Be there when it happens. If you weren't there at the time/area it happened, then don't make a warning thread about it.
5) Don't make player warning threads about noobs. Everyone is a noob at some point in their gaming career. Would you have liked it if you had a player warning thread made as soon as you started to party in the nooblands? Didn't think so.
6) Player warning threads do not have to be just about individual players. You can make Linkshell Warning threads also. This is a topic that nobody uses. I know of several tard shells personally, but there are no LS warning threads made about them. It would be nice to let everyone in the server know about those types of LSs that like to RMT/Bot their gear instead of doing it right. Also, when you see said LS actually doing something that doesn't pop in front of them, you get to see them fail in a whole new level when they actually have to have a stratagy into killing their mobs (i.e. you can't just keep throwing bodies at Absolute Virtue).
Now, ask yourself this before you actually make a player warning thread:
Is it something that affects you personally?
Is it GM bannable?
Did you call a GM about it, and they did absolutly nothing about it?
IF you answered yes to all 3 of these questions, then make your player warning thread. Don't make player warning threads about stupid shit like: This player was farming the mobs we wish to kill when my party got to camp, and he wouldn't leave after we demanded him to leave so we can party.
Thats just worthless.
I'm open to all suggestions, but please, lets keep this clean people! If you want to add more to this guide, by all means, go ahead.
