It's a pretty new system, so it's gonna have some tweeking and fixing in the first few weeks but SE is pretty good at fixing up major things relatively quickly. Hang in there~

Are you using GMail? I had the same issue, contacted POL and they said it was a known issue, they also said its not their problem, that it is something to do with the way GMail receives emails from them.

Ask them to change your SQEX Account email address and try again. I did, works fine now.

I used a gmail email account for my SE account and it worked just fine. Although for the confirmation email I needed to let gmail "allow" the email to come from Square-Enix. After that everything worked just fine.

I also notice in the playonline news info that they're having some minor issues and recovery issues with the Square-Enix accounts so hopefully this should all be cleared up relatively soon.

After a bit of digging in the headers, I have found a fix. The message is encoded in base 64, and thus can be decrypted using a site such as http://www.opinionatedgeek.com/dotnet/tools/Base64Decode/Default.aspx
