ive just recently come back to FFXI, after acquiring my kannagi, and was wondering how i could improve my sets, any new gear that may have came out that's useful for nin, amongst other things.

1. is there anything new that's come out recently that i could switch in or improve in these 2 sets?

2. after looking at them: MKD vs shura +1 vs +3% crit mask for in and outside

3. is this oirandori katana i've heard of hard to acquire

4. do i need any sepcial gear, subs, sets for this voidwatch thing?

5. how do i acquire synergies for augments on cat pants and shura head?

For your outside set:

Switch the stormsoul ring for epona's ring and try to get Seiryu's kote augmented with Crit hit rate +3.
Swap over anguinus belt for cuchulain's belt and swap over iga back for Atheling mantle.
Byakko's haidate with crit dmg +4 and Agi +6 beat any other leg piece for weaponskills anywhere I believe also.

As far as I know, shura head +1 with wsdmg +4 beats most other Head pieces.

Don't bother with Oirandori, make a str sekka and use kamome inside abyssea.
For voidwatch, I don't think nin has any significant uses besides katana weaponskill procing and ninjutsu, but that's something someone else will need to answer.

For synergy augments on your Haidate, you'll need Byakko's scraps which are synergised from Seal of Byakko, same with shura head you'll need Dryadic tatters obtained from any Dryadic Abjuration.

Inside I use:

Rancor Collar
Cavaros Mantle
Seiryu's Kote (augmented)


Outside I use:

Shadow Gorget
Iga Dochugappa
Iga Tekko +2
Shadow Belt
Using Bersail Cap outside still, although I'd like a Leonine Mask eventually (need to bug a few people to help).

Offhanding Kamome both inside and outside, I really wouldn't bother making a str Sekka at all. The low delay, acc and attack PLUS the 10% crit hit damage bonus to both hands makes Kamome a winner both inside and outside abyssea, imo.

thanks for the hasty answers, im not familiar with sky, how difficult is it getting seiryu pops? cat pants, i just bought the pop for lol, but low on cash now.

can prolly buy the seiryu pop also, you can make your money back with the byakko's seal and earthen/neptunal tatters sell for a lot. that'd be like 800k on my server

4) once logged in, type //gw flush

your emp will show up along with whatever else you have in all of your inventories(gear wise).

I can farm an entire sky set on my NIN. MG is the only one that can be annoying, but the rest are dead simple... well, getting Diorite to drop can be a pain.

MG wasnt that bad watching upbeat's solo video, it inspired a decent strategy. i got seiryu's this evening, next on the list is either MKD or leo mask.
